How fast does hair grow?
Before you start learning how to make hair grow faster, it's helpful to first figure out how quickly it naturally grows so we can understand what to expect.
According to the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, scalp hair grows an average of 1cm per month. This means the average person can expect to grow between 4-5 inches of hair per year.
The speed at which your hair grows depends on both genetics and the shape of your follicles - Asian hair is on average the thickest and most coarse hair compared to Caucasian and African hair.
1cm of hair growth a month sounds like a fair amount... so why does it never feel like it? Well, things like over-styling, a bad diet, and not taking good care of your hair can result in split ends and breakages which shorten the length of your hair.
This leads us to another important question...
Why your hair stops growing
Is your hair not growing? It doesn't just decide to stop growing - there are many factors which can stunt hair growth. Try avoiding the following:
1. Over styling
We all want gorgeous-looking hair, but it should never be at the expense of hair health.
If you're using heat tools every day - whether that be hot irons or the hair-dryer - try to cut down. Heat can weaken your hair so even just alternating or going an extra day without heat can dramatically improve the condition of your hair.
If you must use heat, try to gently towel and air dry your hair until it's around 60% dry then use the hairdryer on a medium setting.
TOP TIP: invest in a high-quality hair protection spray - they really do help to keep your hair healthy.
2. Poor diet
As with most things health and beauty, diet plays a massive role in not only the condition of your hair, but also your rate of hair growth.
If your hair won't grow, your diet could be deficient in vitamins, minerals and protein.
3. Wrong products
When it comes to hair products, sometimes less is more. Whilst some creams really can benefit hair health and help make it grow, others cause more damage than good.
Don't just use anything on your hair - harsh chemicals will dry it out and may stunt hair growth.
4. Tight hairstyles
Tight ponytails and high buns might look nice, but they can cause serious damage to our hair health.
Bobbles grip the hair, causing friction which may lead to fraying and split ends - we've all pulled one out before to find it covered in our precious hair. Tying your hair up every once in a while is no big deal, but having the same updo every day will cause damage over time.
Braids are another thing to do sparingly if you want to preserve your hair health - if done too tightly, they can physically pull the hair away from the roots and cause splitting, hair weakness and follicle damage.
When it comes to wet hair, putting it up should be avoided at all costs. Wet hair is more prone to splitting than dry, the evidence of which will be on your hair bobble should you ever try it.
5. Hormonal imbalance
Everything from thyroid-related disorders to stress, menstruation and puberty can cause a change in hormones that impact our hair.
Estrogen and progesterone are specific hormones that promote hair growth, whilst androgen and testosterone discourage it. When these hormones become imbalanced, it forces the hair into the telogen phase, causing hair loss and thinning.
How to make your hair grow faster
1. Eat protein & Biotin-rich foods
Biotin, also known as Vitamin H, forms a part of the B-complex group of vitamins that help turn food into fuel for energy. It also assists in the metabolism of fats, carbs and amino acids which are the building blocks of protein.
As we discussed earlier, hair begins to grow from the root of the follicle which is made up of cells of protein. For faster hair growth, you need to eat a diet rich in both Biotin and protein in order to facilitate the building blocks of protein.
The daily recommended allowance of Biotin is 30 micrograms, which you can ensure you're achieving by taking in a supplement form. If you prefer, you can eat foods that are naturally high in Biotin. It has many many other body-boosting benefits too, such as stronger nails and eyelashes.
Here's a list of Biotin and protein-rich foods which can accelerate hair growth:
- Almonds, Peanuts, Pecans and Walnuts
- Eggs (the yolk has one of the highest concentrations of Biotin)
- Milk and Cheese
- Pork and Cooked Liver
- Salmon and Sardines
Check out The World's Healthiest Foods for all you need to know about foods rich in Biotin, from what foods to eat to how to cook and prepare.
2. How to make hair grow with the inversion method
If you take just one thing from this article, make it The Inversion Method - yes, we capitalised it because it's that important!
The Inversion Method claims to achieve one inch of hair growth a week, and whilst it might not work for everyone it's definitely worth a try.
- Get your hair trimmed to remove and split ends which may affect results.
- Measure your hair so you can compare it to the end results.
- Sit on a chair, sofa or the end of your bed, and hang your head between your legs. Remember: 'Inversion' is when your heart is positioned higher than your head. Inversion poses and twists are commonly found in yoga practices and are safe to perform, but if you feel dizzy or light-headed stop immediately.
- Use your fingertips to massage your scalp for 5-10 minutes. Make sure you use a timer so you are continuously massaging.
- You can help boost the method and give your hair an intensive moisturising treatment using a natural oil like Coconut Oil, Olive Oil or Argan Oil whilst massaging. If you can, leave it in overnight in a shower cap. More on these oils later. You don’t have to use the oil, but it will help condition so your hair will feel stronger and shinier than ever.
- Repeat every day for seven consequetive days, then leave for a month before repeating.
If you're serious about hair growth, a wire scalp massager is a great tool to invest in. They're cheap, comfortable and will prevent your fingers and hands from becoming tired.
3. Shampoo to make your hair grow
You can opt to give your hair a little extra growing power every time you wash it by switching out your everyday shampoo for one that helps accelerate growth.
There are many different shampoos to help hair grow - check out some of the professional's favourites over on the Superdrug website.
4. Rinse hair with cold water
Not many people know, but hot water strips the hair of moisture and weakens hair strands making it more perceptible to breakage. To prevent damage, make sure you're washing your hair with lukewarm water, and definitely not hot or scorching.
Warm water will cause follicles to open, enabling you to clean the scalp thoroughly. It's important, however, to finish off with a blast of cold water to close them again to reduce hair loss and frizz.
This one step alone can make a huge difference to your hair, helping it to grow faster and fall less.
5. How to promote hair growth with grass-fed gelatin
Gelatin is more than an ingredient in jelly - it's derived from animal parts and extremely high in protein and other nutrients too.
It can help to nourish your entire body, but is especially beneficial to your hair, skin and nails. This is because gelatin increases the production of collagen in the skin - an amino acid that enhances the appearance of pretty much every body part.
Although many beauty products claim to encourage collagen production, it's important to boost collagen from the inside as well as the outside, especially as we age and production decreases.
You can get your gelatin fix from common foods like low-calorie jelly, but for an even bigger boost try Grass-fed gelatin. It comes from cows that graze on grass instead of grain. Healthier cows boast higher gelatin prowess according to the suppliers.
You can buy grass-fed gelatin as a supplement that can be added to hot and room temperature drinks. Great Lakes have an affordable range and can be bought from Amazon. Simply add a teaspoon to your morning tea or coffee.
Check out Butter Believer's Guide to Gelatin Powder for more information on all things gelatin.
6. Hair Growth Treatments
If you enjoy experimenting with hair products, we have a recommendation you can really rely on. Lee Stafford's Hair Growth range includes a Hair Treatment which contains a unique 'Pro-Growth' Complex which is high in protein. It helps to fertilise your hair follicles and encourage new growth as well as anchoring your existing hair to your scalp.
New hair growth and less hair loss = win, win.
You don't need to use all the products, but we highly recommend the leave-in conditioner and the treatment. The treatment can be used every time you massage your hair during the Inversion Method instead of a natural oil.
Some blogs may recommend natural products and the 'no-poo' method, which involves cutting out all haircare and relying on baking soda to clean your hair. Whilst we're a big fan of baking soda, we love using coconut oil and olive oil as both beauty and hair care products, and have also found the Lee Stafford range to really work.
7. Cut out the heat and let your hair loose
There's no escaping the fact that heat damages our hair. Just because we can't feel the heat, it doesn't mean it won't affect our hair - after all, you're essentially ironing it.
If you want to encourage your hair to grow faster, the best thing to do is leave it au natural. This means leaving it to air dry, avoiding styling, and leaving it loose or tying it in low hairstyles.
8. How to make hair grow with vitamins & minerals
Diet is just as important for us on the outside as it is on the inside. Besides protein and Biotin-rich foods, it's also important to get as many vitamins and minerals as possible.
- Spinach is a particularly important vegetable for hair growth, as it's high in protein and Vitamins A and C which your body needs to produce sebum which moisturises your scalp. A deficiency in these vitamins can result in brittle hair or even hair loss so make sure you are eating plenty of spinach in your diet.
- Broccoli is another of the best greens you can eat for hair health. As well as Vitamin A and C it also contains essential B vitamins that are needed for strong hair. The antioxidants in broccoli, particularly vitamin C also prevent hair loss by eliminating the free radicals, contributing to healthier and thicker hair.
Both are reasonably priced so make sure you eat at least one portion of either once a day and you'll start to notice not only a healthier bowel, but your skin hair and nails should look better than ever too.
Home remedies for hair growth
Besides your diet and using specific hair products, there are also several home remedies for hair growth that can have a huge impact on hair health and encourage it to get long and strong.
A pot of vaseline is something everyone should have in their bathroom cupboard - not only is it great for treating dry skin and lips, but it can also benefit hair.
Remember, once hair has gone through the Anagen stage, it no longer has a supply of nutrients. This means it's even more important to provide it with extra nourishment.
TRY IT: You can apply Vaseline directly onto the ends of hair to keep them well moisturised and prevent splitting, or, for a more intense treatment, apply to the scalp, massage in and leave overnight whilst wearing a shower cap.
Bear in mind that this product can be quite stubborn to remove. Read our other article on how to get vaseline out of hair, if you need help.
2. Coconut Oil
We briefly touched on coconut oil in the Inversion Method section, and now it's time to look at this fabulous natural product in more detail.
Comprised mainly of smaller medium-chain fatty acids, coconut oil penetrates the hair more deeply and quickly than most other conditioners, and because it's 100% natural you can use it as much as you like without any damage.
There are numerous benefits of using Coconut Oil on your hair including:
- Stimulates hair growth by penetrating deep into the follicles.
- Provides amazing moisturisation for dry hair.
- Adds shine to hair.
- Reduces protein loss in your hair - the only oil to do this.
- Contains anti-bacterial properties to soothe an itchy or flaky scalp.
TRY IT: Use Coconut Oil while doing the Inversion Method or as a once a week overnight treatment to help your hair grow faster than ever.
A tub will last you a good few months, so we'd definitely recommend picking one up next time you're out. For best results, opt for one that's raw, organic and unrefined.
If you don't have any coconut oil to hand, you can also use olive oil to nourish your dry and damaged locks.
3. Aloe Vera
Ever wondered how to use aloe vera? Aloe vera has both cooling and soothing properties that can be used for a variety of home remedies. As far as our hair's concerned, aloe vera can strengthen and repair, promote hair growth, deep clean and calm an itchy scalp, all of which will improve hair health and increase your chances of growing gorgeous locks.
TRY IT: Apply aloe vera to the scalp and massage through hair. Leave for an hour before washing as normal.
We all know eggs are good for our bodies, but did you know our hair and skin like them too?
Eggs are packed with a lot of nutrients, including biotin, vitamin A, D and folate - many of the same nutrients you'll find in healthy, glossy hair. An egg hair treatment can both encourage hair growth and prevent damage - a dream team of sorts!
TRY IT: Whisk 2 egg yolks with 2 tbsp olive oil and apply the mixture to damp hair, using more on the tips than the roots. Leave to sit for 20 minutes in a shower cap, then shampoo with cold water.
5. How to grow long hair with castor oil
Castor oil is another budget beauty product that can benefit our hair. Its antifungal and antibacterial properties are particularly helpful for the scalp, whilst the vitamins, minerals, proteins and fatty acids help hair to grow.
TRY IT: Apply castor oil to damp (not wet) hair and leave for several hours, or, ideally, overnight.
6. Super fast hair growth with apple cider vinegar
Apple cider vinegar can complement your existing hair care routine in many ways. It contains potassium, has antifungal and antibacterial qualities and a similar pH to that of hair meaning it promotes a healthy scalp, helps repair damaged hair and is also great for removing a build-up of chemicals.
TRY IT: Use apple cider vinegar as a nourishing hair rinse by mixing 1 part warm water and 1 part apple cider vinegar together and pour over hair post shampooing. Leave for 20 minutes before rinsing clean.
7. Rice water
Although relatively unheard of in the UK, fermented rice water has been used for years by Yao women, which is what they claim to be the secret to their beautiful, long hair.
The water is rich in antioxidants, minerals, vitamin E and also inositol, which can both protect and prevent hair damage.
TRY IT: Rinse a cup of rice, then place in a bowl and cover with water. Leave to sit for 15 minutes. Pour into an air-tight bottle or jar, adding essential oil for fragrance, and leave for a day until it turns sour. Use as a replacement for shampoo by massaging through your hair. Rinse with cold water.
8. How to make hair grow faster with Jojoba oil
Jojoba oil has been proven to be effective for moisturising hair. It's included in many hair care products because of this, along with its ability to prevent breakages and strengthen your tresses.
Remember: healthier hair = longer, stronger hair!
TRY IT: Gently warm 1-2tbsp oil in the microwave. Start applying to the scalp before working it through the hair. Leave for 20 minutes before rinsing. Alternatively, you can also add jojoba oil to your existing products to give them an extra boost of goodness.
For even more benefits of jojoba oil, take a look at our other article.
Honey is used in many beauty products, both shop-bought and homemade. Honey is an emollient, so helps to seal moisture in your hair and prevent it from becoming dry. It also has antibacterial and antiseptic properties, cleans hair follicles, stimulates re-growth and has antioxidants which prevent damage.
TRY IT: To use honey as a home remedy for rapid hair growth, microwave 1/2 cup honey with 1/4 cup olive oil and apply to hair when cool, beginning at the roots and spreading evenly. Leave for 30 minutes under a shower cap, then rinse with cool water and shampoo.
Hair loss remedies
A proven solution to hair loss may seem too good to be true, but in fact, they do exist. Minoxidil (available over-the-counter) and Finasteride (available on prescription are both FDA approved to counteract hair loss, by reinvigorating shrunken hair follicles.
If you struggle with hair loss or alopecia, they may be worth giving a go.

Hi Claire, if you follow the steps in the article it should help!
Well I tried the biotin thing to grow my hair which hasn't worked and have bought some coconut oil but I'm only using it once a week also have started eating nuts as well. Have ordered some Lee Stafford hair growth stuff too I live in hope. I have had my hair cut short both sides because I had it in a style long one side short the other and I wanted it same both sides regret it massively now because I hate it so short.
Hi Michelle. Have you tried the inversion method? From our experience, this has always been the most effective hair-growth treatment. I hope this helps! :)
I'm always scared of invasion method especially trimming. I hope it works also.
I am working as a lawyer and my personal experience, i am bit happy with NuHairRx serum with the final result after six months of usage. If you want to style your hair thicker then try to use NuhairRx serum which is comfort you to get growing and thicker hair naturally.
Thanks for the recommendation Glenda!
I always get oily, unkempt looking hair after I use coconut oil. It helps my hair but it's awfully hard to style when you have to be out for most of the day and you still want to look acceptable. Any tips?
Hi there, I know what you mean. I apply coconut oil at night and then shampoo it out in the morning which does the trick for me. How about halving the amount of oil you are applying? You don't need as much as you think - coconut oil is extremely moisturising even in small doses.
My hair very small and its not growing help me please I am Indian
Hi Kanchan, thanks for getting in touch! Please follow the instruction in the article - I especially recommend scalp massage for boosting hair growth. All the best, Anushka
My hair is growing a bit I've been doing this since January and that time it's was above my shoulder now it's mid way length down my shoulder and it's June. How long do you think it will take to get down to my back
Hi Riley that sounds promising! If you continue hopefully in a few months you'll get there.
My hair is right above my shoulder and I use to have long beautiful hair. I cute it like a year ago and I want my long hair back. I am obsessed with coconut oil I use it before dying my hair and I dye right over the coconut oil and it leaves my hair really soft. My issue is my hair is very frizzy so I use a lot of products in my hair what can I do for the friz so I can wear my hair out without it looking crazy frizzy also what can I do for hair loss every time I brush my hair I lose a lot of hair I shed everywhere can you please help me. I just want beautiful hair so I can feel beautiful again because my self-esteem is extremely low.😢
Dyeing your hair regularly can increase frizz and breakage, as it dries the hair out. Coconut oil will help, but it would be advisable to reduce the amount you dye your hair, if possible. Have you tried any other products to tame frizz?
Hey! In somewhere in may I had got a layered hair cut. I liked it but then started not liking it after 3 months so I cut it again into a layers. when the stylist cut my it was horrible. Absolutely horrible. I felt like crying because my hair was ruined. My friends made fun of me because of my hair. After 4 months it grew. And I cut it straight but the hairs on the top of my head were still very short. (About 4 inches difference between my top hair and low hair) It still looks horrible so I had to clip the top hair up. The next month later I again cut my hair straight. This all happened in December and now it's 23ed Feb 2016. My hair still looks weird. I'm desperate for my top hair to grow faster. I have just tried to heat up coconut oil and message my scalp with it. I also tie my hair into two plaits. Could you please give me some tips on how to grow my top hair faster? I want it Atleast 4 inches long but quickly. If you know Lindsey Stirling you'll see that her top hair is very short from her bottom hair. Please reply as soon as.possible.
Hi Erin, so to hear you've had a bit of a hair nightmare. I once cut my hair into a pixie cute and it took a long time to grow it back to the style I originally had. I suggest you follow the advice in this article to help grow your hair quicker. The inversion method worked for me so let me know how you get on with that. You just need to massage your hair daily for 7 days alternating with coconut oil. Good luck!
hi, i cut my hair really short and I hate it.i really need your help.please, please help me.
Hi Alexia, if none of the tips in this article has helped, you could also try a brand of shampoo called Mane and Tail. I found it worked really well for me - and smelled gorgeous too!
very helpful and interesting for any daily life solutions!!!
They are very helpful for any person really!!!!!
Thanks! I agree the tips could benefit anyone.
I am dealing with hairline close to my forehead the hair just isn't wanting to grow at all. Several people have said that my hair is damaged and fried an that there is nothing that I can do; I have been eating a ton of fruits and vegetables but I haven't noticed a difference at all what more can I do for my hair, I am open to any suggestions or ideas that might help because I have been extremely embarrassed about my hair I've been walking around wearing a giant black headband.
Have you tried massaging your hair with a good hair oil?
cool ready to try them out!
Great! Let me know how it goes and don't forget to measure a section of your hair before and after.
this dossent work
Did you try it?
For the Inversion Method, is it okay if we just tip our heads back a little instead of fully bending backwards? Or like, will just hanging off my bed do the trick? Thanks!
Hi Sarah, hanging off the bed will do! Be careful and if you feel light headed then stop immediately. Good luck let me know whether it works for you.
@sarah for the inversion method the idea is to have your heart above your head when doing it. As long as your head is lower than your heart your good.
I need my hair grown NOW. I am trying to grow it out so I can style it because my hair grows slow and is very short. These tips haven't helped me mostly because I'm allergic to all of this stuff. ?

Hi Neha, I'm really sorry to hear that. It can be hugely upsetting, have your sought professional advice? It might be due to an underlying health issue which is best to be checked out. I can recommend any of the tips in the above article, especially scalp massage with oil. Don't rub too vigorously though as you don't want to pull too many hairs out.
I had hairs just below the hip length… Bt got layer haircut now it is upto midback or waist length..it is due fault of hairdresser How long it will take to get my original size of hair.. i.e. upto hip length? Hi Joy, you can follow the tips in the article! Good luck for your graduation.
Can you recommend a coconut oil as the market is saturated and I’m not sure which will be best?
Hi Rosa, Organic/unrefined coconut oil is best. It can be picked up from most supermarkets, but if you're unsure, try a health store such as Holland & Barrett.
Hi, thanks for the great tips! How many times a week should you use the coconut oil and do you recommend any specific shampoo? I lost a lot of hair after I had a baby so trying to help the regrowth speed up as it's really thick for about 1inch at the top of my head and terrible everywhere else!
Hi Loretta. As stated in the article, you should use coconut oil once a week on hair.
This is extremely good and cool so cheap but is more than expected I make sure i always did it as instructed before i had a low hair but now my hair is almost my waist length Thanks ma'am
We're glad it helps!
I am on a tight budget, so I use regular veg oil, and beeten eggs for protein. When I get back on my feet again, I'll use the coconut oil, I know it works. Until then what I am using is working, my hair is thicker, shinny, and longer, I have gotten comments on my hair, I'm 50 years old, my hair was thinning and brittle. It takes a while longer, but I'm happy. Now my ex-husband can eat his heart out at my daughter's wedding in June, cause he loves long hair and mine is growing below my boobs. Lol
Hi Sharon, I'm so happy to hear this! The key to healthy hair is feeding and treating your body better :) I'm very please for you.

Bt got layer haircut now it is upto midback or waist length..it is due fault of hairdresser :( How long it will take to get my original size of hair.. i.e. upto hip length? I need my original length as soon as possible .. I want the result within 2 months :( Please suggest me some ideas... I dont lyk this length of hair...
Due to layers volume also decreased so.. Plz tell me.. How to get back my original hair within 2 months?
If you follow the tips in the article it should help!
Anushka do you have to put your head back or forwards when doing the inversion method? I'm a little confused ? Like would it still work if you hang your head off the bed facing the ceiling or the floor? I'm assuming the floor cause that way you can feel the blood rushing to your head more than the other way? Thank you some great tips can't wait to try them! ???
Hi Laura, put your head forwards and tip it so your head is quite low to the ground. You can also do this while sitting down. If you start to feel unwell or dizzy at any point then slowly come back up.
@laura for the inversion method the idea is to have your heart above your head when doing it. As long as your head is lower than your heart your good.
I can't wait to try these!
Good luck Grace I hope it works for you.

I'm african and I have a 4B hair type. I''ve.seen the inversion method somewhere some time ago when i had a big chop and i've tried it. It really worked. I did mine for.4 minutes everyday, sometimes with coconut oil and sometimes with olive oil and i use Amla hair oil sometimes also. I grew up to 1-1.5 Inches per week. I've left it for a while now and i.think i'll get back to it asap. Thanks for this post Anu
Hello there. I used to have shoulder length hair but recently, after seeing my friend having a bob cut , i accompanied her to have my hair , cut like that too. But now I miss my long locks. I hope this helps :(
Oh no, well don't worry hair can grow back quicker than you think! Give it a try and let me know how you get on.
I am extremely stressed my hair looks terrible and I am definitely gonna try this hopefully by march I will be able to see a difference.
Good luck Lee hope it makes a difference!
I don't have a problem with my hair thickness, I just need longer hair. If I follow the steps I'm worried I'll get thicker hair too. How do I get just longer hair not thicker?
Hi HamsterGirl. These methods will not produce new hair follicles, only encourages existing ones to grow, so don't worry about hair becoming thicker.
Are you sure?
Yes, we hope it helps!

Hello, I'm a guy and my stylist cut my sides wayy too short over the weekend. Would I benefit from this as well?
Hi Cameron, yes definitely! In particular try the head massage.
Please am on low cut and I really want a change in my hair I want it to boost up nd be really full before th 14th of this month but now its kind of full but not really.
Please follow the tips on the article to help the condition of your hair!
I need to grow my hair really fast in a week for my thanksgiving dinner, I need help, please reply
Hi Marlene, please read the tips in the article. Scalp massage - also known as the Inversion Method in the article - works very well combined with the coconut oil. I hope it helps!
I just had a head injury, I went to the hospital, they cut my hair too short... Will this work for me??
Hi Bonnie, I'm very sorry to hear that I hope you're OK. If you have a head injury I wouldn't suggest massaging your scalp unless your consult your doctor first. You can try the other tips perhaps?
Does it work on African hair too?
Hi Shauna, I know someone with African hair who said it worked for them so please give it a try. Be sure to measure a section of your hair before and after.
Hi, I have reaally short hair and I've always loved long hair...How long before I see results??
Hi Tracy, if you follow all the steps including the inversion method then you should see results after 1 week, but be sure to measure a section of your hair before and after. It doesn't work for everyone so see how you get on.
I have a thyroid problem and it controls the growth of my hair and also the medication I take causes the hair to fall out would your tips work for me
Hi Kathleen I'm not too sure to be honest, if you're experiencing some hair loss through medication then you would not want to increase it by vigorously massaging your head. I would try the rest of the tips and perhaps a more gentler scalp massage?
nice but not everything is true
I'm glad you liked the article, let me know if any of them work for you.
Oli do I have to leave the oil or have to wash after some minute
You can leave the oil in overnight if you like, it's really up to you.
Will that have any possible negative outcomes?
Hi Concerned Girl :) No not at all. Oil is super nourishing for the hair, so the longer the better really! :)
Hi Anushka, I am going to try the inversion method. Thanks for the tip! I already take biotin every day and it sure does help make my hair thicker and healthier - I will double up for the next week to see if that helps with hair growth. I've been taking it for a year and a half when I started growing my hair out from a pixie cut - it's also great for growing and strengthening your fingernails. I started growing out my hair 18 months ago and now it is to my shoulders which is roughly .75 of an inch per month. I've had a few trims to shape it up - my hair was almost shaved above my ears so it was like starting my hair growth from scratch. I also drink a lot of water and eat plenty of almonds & avocados because I like their health benefits and I eat plenty of other fruits and veggies. A good diet is key to hair growth. I changed my diet from lots of pasta, rice and sugar and the difference in how I feel is amazing. So is my hair since I changed my diet. It was very difficult to break old habits and to stay away from most sugars and sweets, but it was well worth it for my hair growth and for how good I feel. For my main meal each day, I eat a huge bowl of raw veggie salad like cucumbers (my fave), carrots, celery, peppers, lettuce (optional), olives, sunflower seeds, nuts or anything else that suits my fancy at the time, covered in a salad dressing that I make from vinegar and olive oil with spices or sometimes I eat them naked sans dressing. :) I also eat a small portion of meat, beans or eggs for protein and usually a slice of good bread, but the veggie salad is the biggest part of my meal. Delish! Not only has this been very beneficial for my hair, I've trimmed my down waistline without really trying. I have seen a big difference in my hair since changing my diet. It's thicker, shinier and healthier than ever! I also use coconut, olive oil or argan oil in my hair from time to time and I will add the scalp massage with oil to see if this will also work - I'm excited to see if I can grow my hair an inch or more in a week!
Hi there, thank you ever so much for sharing your tips for healthy hair growth. It all sounds very, very good. I'm really interested in hair growth, especially after I too cut my hair into a short pixie cut! Food really is the key to growing healthy hair, almonds and avocados are both delicious and boost your hair growth. You should also try getting some broccoli into your diet if you haven't already. Please do try the scalp massage, it really can work on some people! Thanks again for sharing.
hi my high skul grad is in a months time and my parents wont let me fix nor braid my hair what can i do to make it grow within dis one month
Hi there congratulations on your high school graduation! If you follow the tips in the article, in particular the scalp massage, you should hopefully see some results. Good luck.
My hair is extremely greasy no matter what I do, so I'm a little hesitate to put any oils in it. Do you have any tips?
Hi Daisy, you can try the inversion method without oils. How often do you wash your hair out of interest?
Hi, I'm Wilma, thanks for the tips, I'll give it a try. I believe PNG hairs will work well with that.
hi , how many times I have to do inversion method , I mean once in a month or twice
Hi Madhu, you can do the inversion method every 4 weeks. All the best.
Can we use fenugreek seed pack for hair to grow hair faster? I have a thin hair where my scalp can be seen clearly. I need to get a thick hair soon. Please tell me something to have a quick result
Hi Thahani. We've actually never heard of this method before, so can't speak from personal experience. However it looks like fenugreek seeds would be super nourishing for your hair, so you could give it a go. It definitely won't do your hair any harm! :)
I am 13, I need to grow out my hair. But I hear many people have acne issues due to biotin. Acne isn't really a problem for me, but I hate it so muuucccchhhhhh. I am also a bit worried to use coconut oil for the inversion method because of my age my skin is oily already. Any ideas?
Hi there, thank you for your comment. I would suggest you miss out the biotin and coconut oil if you are worried about either of those. If you do the inversion method with no oil! Good luck, I hope it works for you.
Please tell me that which ingredients I should use on my hairs and howw
I had to cut my hair really short cause I bleached my hair way to much and it got stretchy but now I want my hair to grow at least 5 inches if I do all of the things you said in this article how long would it take to grow my hair 5 inches
Hi Bella, oh no I hope these tips will help! Everyone reacts differently so I can't tell you for sure whether it will work, it's best to start with the scalp massage and measure your hair before and after to see if it's worked. All the best.
Hi, i'm a Nigerian and my hair is only a little past my shoulders and definitely not full. can your recommendations work 4 me 2 ?
Hi there, I can't say for sure whether this will work I can only let you know what worked for me. Please try it and be sure to measure you hair before and after.

Hi there, olive oil or coconut oil will be great for this. You can massage before bed and leave the oil in overnight if you like!

Hi Maddie, certainly give the tips a try! Be sure to measure your hair before and after the Inversion method to see if it's worked.
So can you almost garuntee that the methods will make my hair grow. Fast. I would like my hair to grow longer and i haven't really found anything. But the oil massage seems interesting. And about how long do you think my hair would grow using your methods, and about how long will it take?
Hi Ruby, I'm afraid I can't guarantee the rapid hair growth as everyone is different but from my personal experience I managed to grow my hair 1 inch in a week when I did all the above tips. Please give it a go and be sure to measure a section of your hair before and after. Good luck!
hi what can u use insted of coconut oil x
Olive Oil or a nourishing hair mask will work too?
Love your blog, informative and very interesting, especially to those people who are into taking good care of their hair. I agree with you about coconut oil, I've been using it for years now and it never stop to amaze me especially to what it did to my hair. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the comments! Happy to hear you like the blog post. Coconut oil is fantastic, I love it for many uses. Make sure you check out my article on the other uses - https://experthometips.com/21-clever-uses-for-coconut-oil-that-may-surprise-you
So I can only use the inversion method once I can't use it for more than a week??
Hi there, from what I know you only do it for 7 days - once every month. Otherwise your scalp will get used to the massage and it won't work as well.
Hi I like the way ur respond any way I have 3c and 4a type hair from the day if born still I want at least down my shoulder hair I have tried all expect gelatin for a years still my hair is 10 up 12 inch noting change but it's healthy sometimes it broke I don't what shampoo I use or condition so I use sulfet free please do u have any idea which kind of hospital they know my problem lol thank u dear

Due to hair makeup activities, I have done years of damage to my hair. I thought i should take care some steps to improve my hairs. After googling in internet, i came to know about Nuhairrx serum. I spend one full day to read the reviews about this product and decided to use this product. After using few months, i feel very happy with the result. If you're curious about the method I used, you can check it out yourself.
Hi there, thanks for the recommendation! Always great to hear about products that have worked for real people :)
For the inversion method by every 4 weeks do you mean you do it for one week and then stop for 4 or do it every week for 4 weeks?
Hi Audrey, sorry if this isn't clear in the article. You need to do it for 7 days then have a rest for 3 weeks. Then you do it again for a 7 days.
hi anu, what do you recommend for an african mans' beard and sideburn fast growth. At 24 he has never grown any. Please advise
Hi Glo, I'd love to help with this but to be honest I don't really know too much about hair growth of beards and side burns. Have you tried a quick Google to see what articles you can find on the internet?
Can i use easy waves coconut hair food instead of coconut oil

Hi there, I'm so sorry to hear you're feeling this way. Don't worry, it will grow back! If you do the inversion method just once a month, but you can continue with the rest of the tips. Protein is excellent for healthy hair.
hi, i have triktillomania. i pulled the hair on my head out and im trying to stop. I think im slowly stopping now but i want my hair to grow. will this still work for me?
Hi there, sorry to hear that. I'm afraid I don't know too much about this condition, but scalp massage will certainly helps stimulate the follicles. Please give it a go and see how you get on, if in any doubt though please see a doctor for professional help.
Hi I was wondering if it worked for guys too because i got my haircut to way to short and I would like to get a little more hair before school starts.
Hi Adam! Great to hear from you. I don't see any reason why this would not work on males too. Please give it a go for a week and let me know how you get on :)
Wow your tips are so amazing but I have a little problem I just got my hair cut and I really need to grow it back in two weeks time because of my upcoming home queen events please help me out.

hi mam.. my hair is to short nd grow very slowly. I m very sad??I want long and shiny hair what can I do naturally. I m teenager.
Hi Riya, I have similar hair. It takes a while to grow! Please follow the tips in the article, I can especially recommend scalp massage with a natural oil like coconut or olive oil. Good luck!
My experience using coconut oil is really good, I just love it! It's just soo mositurizing and conditioning I apply it twice a week and my hair is perfect and very healthy. But only applying oils wont help if we also eat healthy food that will help us alot more! Like foods rich in Omega 3 fatty acids, ex: Flaxseed. Foods also rich in Vitamin B6 and B7 are good for hair and vitamin E and C for strong hair!
I totally agree Camilla! I'm a big advocate of nourishing your hair from the insides, too. I load up on eggs, almonds, spinach and broccoli when my hair is not feeling it's best, and the difference is astounding! Thanks for sharing your tips, love Flaxseed.

Hi Sidra, I'm not too sure on how to create thicker hair in a short space of time. I would recommend all the tips above for maintaining healthy-looking hair, especially eating a protein rich diet.

lHi sir kindly explain my week hairs in my mouth & Not more than hairs.pl.give tips. me so growth my hairs
Hi Amarissa if you try the inversion method concentrating around the front of your head hopefully you should see some growth :)
Hi Thanks for sharing these tips but I just have one question. If you use the inversion method and massage every other day with coconut oil without breaking for four weeks in between treatments until your hair is your desired length will it stop working after awhile or damage your hair? Basically what I'm asking is why do you break for four weeks? Thank you!
Hi Siana, great questions. From what I know and have read, the scalp massage helps increase blood circulation to the hair follicles. The pressure applies warms the skin and open up the blood vessels to increase flow and boost circulation, but the results are diminished if this is done every day. It should be done in short bursts - for example for seven day then break for 3 weeks - if you want to see rapid growth. If you perform scalp massage every day then I don't think this will damage your hair particularly, but it may encourage hairs to fall out depending how vigorously you massage your scalp. I hope this helps!

Hi.. I am suffering from eccessive hair fall. I am taking keraglo eva as suggested by doctor from last one month but its not working. I am getting married in 2 months. Please suggest what should i do to stop hair fall and grow and thicken my hair .
Hi Deepti, congratulations on your wedding! I'm sorry to hear about your hair loss, in this case I think it's best to follow the doctor's prescribed treatment. You might like to try gentle scalp massage but be careful not to encourage more hair loss. Coconut oil is fantastic for strengthening too. How about eating lots of protein rich foods?
Wow!how fascinating and fantastic
Nice.it is very usefull tips .???
I feel like I have unhealthy hair since I haven't really looked after it well. I've tried these methods but due the way it is it doesn't work. I'm wondering if I should cut it into some sort of of bob even though my hair only reaches my shoulders or maybe a centimetre or two above it. Will cutting my hair make it grow longer and healthier or is shaving a better option?
Hi Mal, thanks for getting in touch! Getting regular trims are essential for healthy hair growth, plus if your hair is dry and split ended then it'll only appear shorter even if it is growing. I would get a trim about 1-2 inches to tidy up your ends then use a moisturising oil on your hair every week. Are you using hot tools and how often are you washing your hair?
I cut my hair recently so low. I want to grow it back I don't know how. I don't need fast process I just want a positive change.
Give our methods a try and let us know how you get on, Aisha!
Hi, is was wondering if you have any further recommendations that aren't listed in the previous reading? I'm trying to get my hair to grow six inches in less then 3 months so I was hoping you might have a further explinination or list of foods that might benafit my hair? Reply soon:D
Hi Emily, thanks for getting in touch. I would definitely do the inversion method using a scalp massager every 4 weeks. I can't think of anything more to add to the list, but I like to take in Biotin rich foods through a smoothie in the morning as it's absorbed by your body at a faster rate. I mix a handful of spinach and kale with half a banana, 1/4 avocado, almonds and brazil nuts. I always make sure I eat a protion of brocolli every other day. Some people recommend pumpkin seed oil for hair growth - I have not tried it myself but many blogger swear by it.
Is there a reason for only five minutes and only 7 days on the inversion method? Is a philosophy of longer massage or more days not as effective? If you can grow 1" in 7 days, why not 2" in 14 days?
Hi Heidi, that's exactly it. The massage provides increased blood flow to the hair follicle which boosts growth, if you did it constantly then it wouldn't be as effective. Massage is brilliant for hair health anyway so it won't hurt to massage your hair daily but if you're after rapid growth then you need a break in between.
Hi I pluck my hair a lot and now I'm having a bald spot on my head, I think its trichottilomania. Pls suggest me a good medicine for faster regrowth of my hair
Hi Raj, sorry to hear that. Please see your doctor who will be able to advise you about this condition. All the best.
I got a pixie cut about 4 days ago and I'm regretting it so much, yes my hair is healthier but I HATE IT!!! I want it to be at least at my shoulders rn. My hair usually grows 1-1 1/2 inches a month, do u think I could double or triple that in a month. I honestly dont even want to go to school like this, Plz HELP!!!
Hi Edna, sorry to hear that! Please follow the instructions in the article, you should see a difference. Fingers crossed!
Hi Anushka, Certainly I am gonna try inversion method for a week in a month. Can you please share your before and after pics for hair difference. Also want to ask 1 question that whenever I massage my hair and wash it. Hair falls out a lot (lot means lot) is that normal? And how many times in a weak should one wash her hair if getting better with dandruff and dry hair. Thank you for the response!
Hi Smita, Great to hear you are going to try the inversion method, let me know how it goes and don't forget to measure it before and after. I don't have any pics but I am definitely going to take some the next time I do the inversion method and add them to this post. I also get a lot of hair loss, try massaging very lightly and reduce the amount of times you wash your hair every week. Perhaps try washing your hair every 2 days?
I have a pixie cut and I'm getting tired of it, I just want my hair back ( at least to shoulder length ) before Christmas ( thanksgiving even! ) is there any ( cheap) way I could grow it out FAST? I'm in 7th grade and really don't want a LONG awkward stage of growing out my hair. I know it will look akward at some points but if you could help me shorten that time that would be GREAT!!!
Hi Ray, sorry to hear that! I also cut my hair into a pixie style, don't worry it will grow quicker than you think. For the awkward stage I can only suggest lots and lots of clips! Please follow the tips in the article, hopefully you'll see a difference.
I lost a lot of my natural curls and hair, after internal bleeding, gallstones and just being sick. After throwing away my blow dryer and air dryer my hair over night, it started growing in again. The new undergrowth has returned curly but the rest is wavy at most... any tips to getting my curl back w/o perms and chemicals? It has been almost 2yrs, my hair is almost 3ft. Long
Hi there, oh I'm sorry to hear that. Please consult your hairdresser about the ways you can encourage curls naturally, I'm afraid I'm not too sure about this. Good luck!
I got my hair cut today. . .i dint lyk short hair. . .i wanna grow my hair as soon as possible. . .please let me know. . .how can i get my hair grow in length fast!!
Hi Nikitha sorry to hear this, please follow the tips in the article!
hey dea. which shampoo is best for curly and rough hair... n thank u...coconut oil is one of the best treatment i have ever had for hair... it really works...
Hi Pamila! I have wavy and very rough hair, I always use something with Argan oil in it. Or I use a normal shampoo but make sure I end with a small bit of Argan oil.
Please help. My hair has always been my pride and joy. I figured since it is pretty damn healthy, it could deal with some bleach damage. And I figured the master stylist who did all the color-corrections would know how much would be too much. I was wrong, and now I want to burst into tears every time I look at my hair or touch it. I just don't know what to do. my hair has also NEVER been shorter than this and it breaks and falls out. What should i do to regrow hair?
Hi Nathalie, sorry to hear this! I think all the tips in the article should help. Especially the diet tips and use of coconut oil when massaging your hair and scalp. Please try it out, if it doesn't help it might be worth seeking professional advice.
Hey! Should I do all the tips so these together are going to work on my hair or if I do the Method and for example I take Vitamin H too it's gonna be a bit longer/stronger? Sorry for bad English tho and thanks for the tips!
Hi there, it's really up to you. I tried all these at the same time and it worked for me, but I have done the inversion method without the other tips at it also worked. I just felt the oils and foods really helped strengthen my hair at the same time.
Hey In the inversion method, are we suppose to shampoo off the oil everyday ?
Hi there, it's really up to you. When I apply coconut oil and do the inversion method I do wash my hair every day, but if you don't like doing this then you can use the oil only before days you wash your hair. I hope that makes sense!
Hi I'm having my hair cut tomorrow and I want it the same length next week but healthier... will it work ?
Hi Sophie give it a go! I can't guarantee it will work on your hair, but it's worth a try :)
I had my hair cut and she layer the front I want to grow it back please help
Hi Sophie, please follow the inversion method as described in the post. Good luck!

Hi Margo! I have personally tried Mane 'n Tail Shampoo and Conditioner and found it to be very good for fast hair growth when combined with the methods listed in the article. I'm not sure if it's suitable for sensitive skin, so do check the packaging.
Hey should we oil our hair every night and take bath in morning ? Or tell me exactly how many nights in the week we should put oil for hair
Hi Mayola thanks for the question! It's completely up to you, I put oil into my hair every other day as I usually wash my hair every other day so it made sense for me to do that.
Hii Anushka. From my school days I have short hair only. Now my age 22. I consulted doctor, I spent more money and I disappointed with my hair growth. Feeling bad when my friends kidding me using my hair so plz help me. Is this tips makes me feel good???
Hi there, I'm very sorry to hear that. Definitely give the tips a go, scalp massage can be hugely beneficial and it's worth a go. Good luck!
Hmm. Thankq Anushka. I will try this....
I normally find your info interesting, but this one beat the lot. Thank you for some interesting reads and helpful hints and tips. Hope it keeps coming.
Awww thank you! That's so nice to hear, will you be trying the tips in this article?
Does it work on african mixed hair?
I'm not too sure Amber, I assume so - please give it a go and let me know if it works for you.
have you ever tried hair bear vitamins, there very good but will try this. Just out of interest do you get sponsored by lee Stratford to say that or do you genuinely really think it works? ❤️❤️❤️
I have not tried those? Where can you get them from? No I wasn't sponsored by Lee Stafford, it's a genuine recommendation. It was recommended to me by a friend who swore by it for hair growth and I was pleasantly surprised to find it worked!
Gonna try the cold water method because I am poor Cya guys in a week ?
Hi Kaylee, the Inversion Method is free to do too! Haha.
Does the inversion method help in getting thick hair. I have big time hair loss and I have started applying olive oil. Please suggest
I'm not sure if it will help thickness, but it should help with growth. Maybe try coconut oil instead of olive - good luck!
This information is so cool. I really hope that it work for me, my birthday is in March and i want to try and get 5 inched from now to then. Cross your fingers for me.... Thanks again
Hi..do i need to shampoo my hair each time after an oil message??plz give some remedies for split ends??
Not every time no, Anu. You can alternate the days - one day with oil, one day without and so on. Split ends - prevention is better than cure I'm afraid. Once it's split longer than 1 cm you can hide the split with serum but it's best to get regular trims and use a weekly moisturising treatment, avoid heat and so on.
Hi! I have a pixie cut and I have cosmetology next September would my hair be past shoulder length by then?
I really couldn't say Kayla, it depends on the individual. I would try all the tips in the article as best you can :)
Is it o.k. to use other oils, such as: Olive oil, Shea butter, Jojoba
Yes it is! I prefer coconut oil, but you can use any oil.
Hai Anushka, this is gomathy I got improvement in my hair growth through inversion method. Thankqq....
Oh amazing that's great to hear!!
So I want to try the inversion method to make my hair grow longer using coconut oil, but what brand is the best to get in coconut oil? I see the brand Palmers and OGX come up a lot, which one should I choose??
As long as both are high quality raw coconut oil, either should be absolutely fine. I use Vita Coco if that helps!
So I want to try the inversion method to make my hair grow longer using coconut oil, but what brand is the best to get in coconut oil? I see the brand Palmers and OGX come up a lot, which one should I choose??
Hi Ashley, I use Raw Virgin Coconut Oil which is certified organic, 100% pure and affordable!
Coconut oil saved my scalp AND my hair! Everybody should try the ingredients and methods this article mentions! I used to have a very itchy scalp and my hair was very dry and brittle, due to the fact that I was on and off the swim team for a good decade, so spending one - two hours in chlorine really showed on my hair, and then of course the Saturday swim meets we had every week, doesn't really help! I went for a good year (at the end of 2015, up to September 2016) dying my hair all kinds of colors every two months, and this did show as well. My hair also grew very slow due to how unhealthy it was. I started doing coconut oil masks (with yoghurt and honey) once a week (on and off for three months) and my hair has grown close to two inches, in three months! My hair feels sososososo much better ever since I started taking care of it and it has shown! My boyfriend's mother used to be a hair stylist and she said a couple weeks ago that my hair looks better than ever, and this is only month three of my hair care journey! I plan on getting a perm done hopefully by September of next year, hoping that these treatments can get my hair is top shape before I kill it off again. But yeah, coconut oil is pretty much my safe haven to all my hair problems! Especially the itchy scalp problem. I was AMAZED that my scalp didn't itch 30 minutes later, the night I put the coconut oil mask in my hair... it hasn't itched since! (Now given, every now and then it does, but it isn't a constant pain anymore!) and head massages actually FEEL GOOD to me now. They used to feel weird to me but now I do it every time I get out of the shower. I don't always do the inversion method, but I do massage my scalp a lot now. I'm surprised I've been so committed to getting my hair in top shape, as it takes a lot for me to be committed to anything lol let alone DEDICATED. People do need to try the inversion method, and even just massaging your scalp when you get done showering... I swear I can feel my scalp warm up after a good minute or two of massaging it. That my friend, is magic lol.
Hi Rebecca SO pleased that you've benefitted from the tips in the article! I can't recommend both coconut oil and scalp massage enough - they work absolute wonders for your hair health. So happy for you, just a bit of commitment and you really can see an improvement. Thanks for leaving such a lengthy comment, really made my day and I will try the mask with yogurt and honey too. All the best with your hair journey! Anushka
Hey! It's such a beautiful article, I have confidence in this. Well, reading it makes me pretty sure that I'm going to have long hairs! Thanks a ton! Hoping to write soon. I'll surely brief you about my growth within a short span! Regards! You're doing a great job! :)
Hi Tanya thanks for the lovely comments! Let me know how you get on with this, would love to hear.
I m gonna try this very soon...thank you #Anushka ;)
You're welcome, let me know how you get on.
Thank you very much. I am a cancer paciant.your letter helps to me grow hair faster
Oh I'm glad, all the best.
Thanks for such an useful article i will surely try this on my hair....i love to have long hair now i will definately try this and i m sure it will work.?
Aww that's great Zeniya - I'm really happy to hear you like the article. Let me know how you get on :)
I have a mental disorder that causes me to pull my hair when i'm stressed out or when i have really bad anxiety. I'm wondering if these methods would work. i'm deciding to shave my hair off completely so i can grow even together. but would the methods work?
Hi Luis, I'm really sorry to hear that. Have you sought medical advice from your Doctor regarding this problem? I hope you will be able to try a few of these tips and tricks, even better if you know someone who can do the scalp massage on you that will help promote growth and help relax you. Scalp massage is a fantastic stress buster, and can really help. Good luck.
Hello! I was wondering how long your hair grew within a week/month in inches spand using these methods? Thanks!
Hi there! My hair grows around 1 week an inch when I do the inversion method. I've done it around 6 times now.
I have a big spot on the top back part of my head that's completely cut and looks bald and hard to cover bc of severe gum that I had to have cut out.. how can I make it grow back fast enough to make it long enough to at least cut all my hair into a bob. Plz help asap!!!
Hi Rach really sorry to hear about your predicament! Please follow the advice outlined in the article to help boost hair growth. You should hopefully notice a different with the inversion method and a change in your diet to more Biotin-rich foods. Good luck!
Hey....I recently had a haircut and the parlour person made ma hairs too short n it's looking damn wierd on me....I need to grow them fast...plss help....n do we have to use only coconut oil or once in a week coconut and castor oil along with daily coconut oil massage will work....and doing shampoo daily won't affect the hair growth??
Hi there...sorry to hear that! I like to alternate with the oils. I wash my hair every other day, so when I'm not washing my hair I do the inversion method without any oil and then when I am washing my hair the next morning I will use coconut oil when massaging and leave it overnight. You can adapt the method to suit your needs, for example if you only wash your hair once a week then you can use coconut oil just once, but still do the inversion the rest of the days without oil. I hope that makes sense!
Hi! I just got engaged, and I'm trying g to grow my hair back out to my waist where it used to be. I have about a year and seven months, and I want my hair back!! It's to my Hawking now, so I'd say it's about a fourth of the way there, and with an average of about six inches a year it'd be close but I'm really hoping you can recommend something to help me! My hair is naturally really fine but it's strong and healthy! Please help!
Congratulations Morgan! There are a few tips in the article that will definitely help with your hair growth. I would recommend trying the inversion method every few weeks and making sure you have a Biotin-rich diet - eggs, salmon, almonds, walnuts etc. You can get more information from the article itself. Good luck and let me know how you get on.
I Had Tried All The tips ......but my hairs are very frizzy and unmanageable....what to do now ??? I am tired of them ??????
Plzzz give me some new and easy tips to grow my hair longer and make them shine
Hi anushka will the inversion method work if i use a vitamin enriched hair food instead of coconut oil
Hi Yak, I can only advise based on what I tried myself. You can do the inversion method without any oils so I don't see why it would you could not do it this way. Please let me know how it's going!
Thank u for those informations I will try most of them for a month. Hope that it will work for me . I want to ask do u know viviscal vitamins ? If u do is it really works ?
Hi there! Good luck with the tips, let me know how you get one. I'm afraid I don't know about Viviscal vitamins so I can't advise you on that. Best of luck.
you mentioned eating an egg once or twice a day what if someone is allergic to egg what can you replace the egg with
Hi there...there are plenty of Biotin-rich foods that you can eat if you are allergic to egg. These include salmon, sardines, avocado, almonds, walnuts, pecans, milk and cheese.
I have tried everything to make my hair grow faster for the past 5 years now, I know it takes patience but everything I try damages and dries it out. I'm uneducated about hair care and I could really use the help because I miss my long locks, anything I can do to speed up the process a little, I heard hemp oil and argan oil are good oils for your hair but I want to help my hair without going extravagant in price
Hi Kayla, thanks for your comments. It's definitely possible to improve the quality and health of your hair on a limited budget, in my article you'll find a few different ways to boost hair growth and make your hair stronger. Firstly it's important to eat plenty of Biotin-rich foods such as eggs, almonds, pecans, walnuts, milk, salmon and avocado. Scalp massage will help boost the blood flow and promote hair growth, you can read more about this in the article, and finally oils definitely help. I do like argan oil, but I prefer raw coconut oil. I hope this helps!
I desperately need help. I need to grow out my hair in three weeks for an event and I have tried these methods but they do not seem to be working for my hair (my hair hair is African, soft and natural). The coconut oil is working but it works so slowly on my hair, and it will take about two months to grow it out how I want at the rate it is growing. Please me with tips, hacks, tricks. Anything. And I cut my hair for another event one time so that also contributes to the slow hair growth. Please help, I really need to be there for the event!!!
Hi there thanks for the comments - I'm afraid I don't know too much else what you can do to get an even more rapid hair growth. Have you been doing the inversion method every day for the stated time?
If at home u don't have money to buy profuctdt
Hello am Tasha I hve been looking for ways of Meking my hair grow fast but I kept on getting dissapointed each tym bt I hope this will work for me coz am desperately looking forward to hving long hair becz now am trimming my hair less than an inch en try it out with one heart thnx
Hi Doki let me know how you get on with the tips in this article.
My problem is actually oposite, my hair grows like a chia plant, i cut it really short and by the end of the month i have the big hair again, i cut my hair with on passed a 2 and have my hair really short so now im gona see how much it can grow in a week
Oh wow like a chia plant! You are very lucky...I would love hair that grows that fast! :)
Hey Anushka, when you massage your hair with coconut oil you said you do it at night and wash it out in the morning. Do you this everyday? I've heard washing your hair everyday is not healthy...
Hi Vinita, yes hair specialists do say you shouldn't wash every day but everyone is different. Some days I do wash my hair every day butI try to cut it down to every other day. I would suggest using the oil on days when you want to wash your hair the next morning, and simply omit the oil on days when you do not want to wash your hair. You can do the inversion method without oil too - I hope that helps :)
Hey can u plz tell me either there is any age limit for hair growth or not?i mean hair growths whole the life or not?
Actually i had a bad hai cut n now want to grow my hairs.i m 26 years old. I was worried abt at this age my hairs normally ?plz reply
The follicles do start to decline as you get older, but everyone is different. It's hard to say really!
Please follow the tips in the article!
My hair has been falling really rapidly it's half of what it was three months ago.Can you please advice me what to do To make new hair grow within a month.
Hi Nuha, if you are suffering from extreme hair loss I would advise seeing your doctor to seek professional advice. All the best, Anushka
what about using an egg???
Hi there, I've never tried egg before for growth but I know it can be used on hair!
hi:) I NEED my hair to grow before Sunday. I've been trying something someone told me and they said after you shower put conditioner in your hair and keep it in but I just find it greasy and not sure if it works. do you know anything about that?
Hi Jay I've not heard of that before! I would do some scalp massage every day with coconut oil until Sunday :)
Hi. How can get thick and long hair very fast?
Try the tips on the article Heshani! Will help with the growth but not necessarily the thickness.
Do u do the inversion head massage with coconut oil on dry, unwashed hair or wet, clean hair? If done on dry hair, how long until washed out & how much coconut oil shld I use? Just enuf 4 scalp or a big handful 4 entire length of hair. Mine is past back of bra & quite thick. Also, is" XTRA VIRGIN" better than just" VIRGIN" coconut oil & if so why? ?? Thanks so much! I truly wld appreciate an immediate response as my hair sitch (as are all the others) very time sensitive!! Btw... I really enjoyed ur article. U seem very knowledgeable, passionate & dedicated 2 bring ur viewers accurate & well researched info. Trust me...I researched all ur suggestions B4 even considering 2 try! Well done my friend! Honest & quite accurate! ! I myself am a makeup artist/ high end skincare specialist. Have been peddling the "good stuff" for over 25 yrs! I'm 53 & don't look much over 35 (people say anyway..& I'll take it...Lol! ) But I'm now trying 2 find less expensive alternatives that work as effectively if chosen & used peoperly! Thx in advance 4 ur prompt response 2 my questions! Laurie
Hi Laurie, thanks for your questions! Really happy to hear you are going to try the method. There are different ways you can do the inversion method. You can apply the coconut oil to dry, unwashed hair in the evening, leave it on overnight with a cap then wash it out in the morning. If you don't want to wash your hair every day then you can alternate with the inversion method - one day with oil, one day without and so on. You can even do the inversion method without the oil - or just use the oil once a week. It's completely up to you. There is no real difference between extra virgin and virgin coconut oil, as far as I am aware - this seems to be just a marketing ploy by companies, but I could be wrong. Thanks for the comments on the article, I'm really pleased you like it. I have written the article purely based on my own personal experience and my hair loss experience and journey. I can't promise it will work for everyone, but I just wanted to share what did work for me - after years of trial and error! I am impressed with how young people say you look... please feel free to share your secret! I swear by coconut oil and face massage, but those wrinkles around the eyes just keep on comin'!
So I may be the only male in this section but what the heck. My hairstyle is the very bland side parting/quiff which I've had for years now and I just want a change! I get regular haircuts which may be every 2-3 weeks but it seems that if I leave my hair longer than this it just stops growing on the sides especially. Any tips would be appreciated as I am hoping to just grow the sides to get an evenly proportioned haircut!!
Hi Lewis! Thanks for joining the discussion. I have a similar problem in that my hair at the back of my head take longer to grow than the front! I would try the inversion method and concentrate on these areas alone so you'll be boosting the blood flow around the sides. Make sure you measure your hair before and after to see whether it's worked on not. Remember, massage those sides every day for five minutes for seven days.
Does this work for men?
Hello anushka,I am having a severe hair fall after ,doing a hair rebonding process, earlier my hair was big and wavy,so I did rebonding and suddenly m facing severe hair fall n I m pure vegetarian we don't eat egg n gelatin, can u help me out please,I m using coconut oil n castor oil ,taking biotin n vitamin e tablets also but its not helping me..looking forward for your help..thanku ,and I m confused with your inversion method too I mean we need to sit on floor and bring our head down and then do the hair massage??I m having a hair breakage problem also,my hairs are totally spoiled ..I wnat my big hairs back..
Hi there, thanks for your message. With the inversion method you can sit on a chair and just tip your head forward and over so your hair falls forward - you can then start massaging your head. If you feel lightheaded or dizzy then stop immediately. You can eat plenty of food that's good for hair growth such as spinach and nuts. To get your hair back to good health I can recommend using coconut oil on your scalp and through the lengths of your hair - you only need a small amount to really inject some moisture into your hair.
Hi. I was wondering if I was using the inversion method, would I HAVE to put oil in my hair? Or anything? Would the results be the same? Thanks for your time in creating this article.
Hi Cosette, you don't NEED the oil for the inversion method to work, but I find it help strengthen and moisturise the hair.
I need to grow my hair for a dance show in one week, but I only have argan oil. Will it still work?
Hi Jessica good luck in the dance show! Yes you can use Argan Oil - start doing the inversion method now!
Hello i used a blowdryer and heald it in the wrong place for to long and it got so hot it burnt of a strip of my hair! It is in the front of my head where hair grows slower so i can no longer put my hair up and have to put gel or hairspray in it to keep it from going down everyday which is makeing it grow even slower! What should i do?
Hi Caroline, really sorry to hear what happened with your hair - I bet it was painful! Have you tried a clip-in fringe for the time being? They look realistic and will help hide the spot. You could try some scalp massage when the skin has healed too.
I cut my hair its very very short Im so worried because i will attend in a wedding in 3weeks can you help me please
Please help me
Hi Andrea why don't you try the tips in the article, in particular the inversion method and see how you get on?
I'm a guy and I got a stunningly horrible haircut. Prom is in a month, I was wondering if this jazz also works for dudes. Thanks!
Hi Tyler! Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, did you have your prom yet? Scalp massage and healthy diet of protein and essential fats and vitamins can certainly help.
Looking ahead to Try this. My Hair are So Frizzy Especially in Summer. Thanks For sharing this Awesome Article for Hair
No worries - good luck!
Hi Jennie, really sorry to hear about your experience. It can be terribly upsetting, but I would use a moisturising hair mask every week to get it back to good health. Make sure you eat a good healthy diet (you can find details in the article) and use just lukewarm water to wash your hair. I wouldn't recommend hair massage if your hair is falling out at the moment, when it has had time to recover you can try a gentle scalp massage in the shower when you're shampooing - that would be a good start. I hope this helps, but if you're at all worried please visit your nearest hair salon to seek professional advice.
Hi Anushka...With the inversion method is it compulsory to do the massage only 5min... I mean with the method work more effectively if I do it more then the suggested time??
Hi Chrystal it's meant to be a short amount of time so just a few minutes will be enough.
I have a bad haircut hair to short can Olive Oil doing that method work.
Hi Musaab sure you can use olive oil as a substitute to coconut oil. I prefer the latter, but olive oil has plenty of benefits to the scalp and hair too.
Can you send me the type of shampoo and things i need. And information like when to wash it and stuff ?
Hi Adrien, a good quality shampoo will suffice and I recommend washing your hair around 3 times a week.
I oil my hair twice a week in the night & wash it the next morning, but still my hair looks thin & from the next day my scalp is oily although my hair is dry like oily skin. There is no fresh look & how to get rid of oily scalp.
Hi Nethra why don't you take a break from oiling your hair and do the scalp massage during this break? I think it would be a good idea, let me know how you get on.
how i long my hair !! you need 1- coconut oil mix with castor oil with coco powder this mask make beautiful hair 🌺

Hi Joshly, sorry to hear this! Have you tried the inversion method?
hi, i would like to know if the coconut oil must be added on dry hair or wet hair?
Hi Valentina, it doesn't really matter either way. I use it on both dry and damp hair.
Hey.... I got a hair cut that I don't like and it's short......is there anything besides massaging that I can use that won't cost money?
Hey.... I got a hair cut that I don't like and it's short......is there anything besides massaging that I can use that won't cost money??
Hi Taryn, massaging is the best way to do it for free but you can also give your hair a quick blast of codl water after every wash and include more protein-rich foods in your diet.
Sorry about the same message twice that was an accident, but I was also wondering, I've heard olive oil and lemon juice works for hair growth...is this true?
Hi Taryn, olive oil is great for your hair! I'm not too sure about lemon juice though.
Sorry to keep bugging you but if I want my hair to grow enough more can I do the inversion method more than once every 4 weeks?
Hi it's best to do the inversion method every 4 weeks in my opinion!
Hi Anushka, thanks for this article. I've had a really good read through and I'm currently waiting for my jelly to set in the fridge (any excuse to eat my favourite dessert) after using the inversion method with coconut oil. My hair is incredibly thick and there is lots and lots of it, my issue is that it grows out and not down! So frustrating! I'm getting married in December and I'm trying to grow out my hair for the big day. My 20 year old daughter (who has beautiful long, blonde hair) and my fiancé (who is folicley challenged) think I will get it cut before the day. I really want to prove them wrong so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this works xxxx
Hi Anne-Marie, sorry for the delay in getting back to you! How are you getting on with the tips in this article?

Hi there I have purchased the Lee Stafford hair growth treatment and leave in conditioner. I am just wondering what the best way to use the treatment is? It says to use in between shampoo and conditioner? Is this best way to use it or do you advise putting the treatment in and leaving overnight before shampooing etc the next morning? Thanks
Hi Danielle, you can do either it's very versatile. I sometimes put it straight onto my hair for overnight, or used it in my hair after washing and conditioning. I hope this helps!
thank you so much! it works!
You're welcome, Paityn. Glad we could help! :)
This is a great article, thank you for the additional tips. I already use a great sulfur oil from consciousessence.com that gives me about an inch growth a month so I'll try the inversion to see if I can get even more growth :) I am really excited and can't wait to try.
Hi Eliza. I'm so glad you enjoyed the article. The inversion method really does get great results - I'd seriously recommend giving it a good go. Thanks for stopping by :)
Hi, I've tried every method in this article, but my hair doesn't seem to want to grow. My hair is super healthy, but it's only growing as slow as it did before. I've been using these methods for about two months, and my hair has grown about 3/4 of an inch. I have not exposed my hair to heat products whatsoever, or any bleach or coloring products. I have also tried warm argan oil, which doesn't seem to make it want to grow either. Are there any other methods that might help me??
Hi Ana have you been doing the inversion method?
Hi I just want long hair it's not growing at all don't know wot to do and I am very upset about it please help me thank you

Hello Ma'm, I've got a shaggy haircut and now my hair about 6" and I want my upto 12" in 2 months, and that's what wanted to ask that, is it possible to have such a long growth in such a short time, if I'll try the above methods?
Hi Sabeesha, I'm not entirely sure you will be able to achieve this much growth but you can only try and see how you get on!
Please if I may ask, is a there anything that can replace grass-fed gelatin because I can't reach that now
Hi Ashley. You could try a vegan alternative like agar agar? I hope this helps :)
Thought my whole 16 years I been trying everything for my hair growth but nothing works for me but as soon as I read this I figure should I give it a try because I want my hair to grow thicker and longer before my senior year on June 3 I'm going to go cut it and I really really hope u guys can recommend me some shampoos and conditioners to use because I really Wang my hair long ??
Hi Yvette, good luck with the tips in this article. I hope they work out for you! It's hard to recommend a shampoo or conditioner as everyone is different and has different concerns and hair types. Generally a good quality haircare product will suffice when following these types, just make sure you use the right amount and give your hair a cold blast of water after washing.
will all of these things work well enough to get may hair 10 inches longer in less then a year? My graduation is coming next year and my hair is only up to my shoulders. i would like it to be 10 inches longer so i can make my hair style look beautiful for grad. Thank you for the tips :)
Hi Cindy I'm not too sure really it depends on your normal hair growth rate and whether these tips personally work for you.Why don't you give them a go and make sure you keep a record of your length of hair every few weeks?
Hi, I just got a damn low haircut I don't like. I wan't to boost my hair lenght against a ceremony that comes up in a month. I'm an African guy, What do I do?
Hi Ojo please follow the tips in the article - I hope they work for you!
Any time i use virgin coconut oil on either my hair or scalp..my hair fall out in lumps. I think my fine hair cannot handle oild. I have tried using different oils on and off each time they shed like crazy.
Hi Anna, you only need a very small amount of oil. You can always try the inversion method without oil if it's not for you!
im doing this because bitch i need bitches
Wow these are the best tips and they really work ??
Hi Shreya. Thank you for your kind comments. I'm glad you're having some success with the tips! :)
This is such hogwash. It takes a year for your hair to grow 6 inches. It is physically impossible for hair to grow an inch in a week. There is no proof because it isn't possible.
Since you are moderating the comments I have to assume that you won't post my comment since I disagree with your post. smh.
Hi Kelli please feel free to give the tips a go and see if it works for you!
I just now cut my hair ..... now it's only shoulder length ....plzzz suggest quick growing tips
Hi Rashmi if you follow the tips in the article! The inversion method is particularly good - give it a try and see if it works for you. Good luck, Anushka
hi I had blesched my hair twice in a week, it's burned really crispy, I had to trim it short but my hair was long an now it's short and very damaged, I don't want to cut it shorter what can I do? I'm very depressed about my hair
Hi Julia, sorry to hear that. For the time being I would try not to concentrate on hair growth and more about treating your hair well and getting it back to good health. I would eat plenty of protein-rich foods, treat your hair to a weekly hair mask on the ends and gentle scalp massage. Try not to use any heated tools on your hair, and wash it using lukewarm water - avoid burning hot water - and your hair should be feeling better soon.
I know this is not really part of the article, but if my hair has lots of split ends that reaches to my scalp, do I have no choice but to chop it off? My hair is at shoulder length and it has been like that for 2 years and it's the same length. My hair is not that fried but it's pretty damaged. I did the unthinkable and I chopped off the side hairs underneath to let them grow healthy and fresh again. It kinda looks stupid now but will this help me of getting the short hairs long again? Any tips?
Hi Maddie, sorry to hear about your split end woes. I can sympathise because my hair can be very weak and often starts splitting after just one use of the hair straighteners! I would suggest getting a proper trim at your hairdressers to get rid of as many dead ends as possible. Then you can start afresh with your new haircare routine. Follow the tips in the article - eat plenty of protein rich foods, use luke warm water, try the inversion method, use a good oil maybe once a week. This should all help improve the condition of your hair if nothing else.

Will it work if i only massage my scalp everyday and dont use any heat and stuff?
Hi Em, I can only recommend the Inversion Method which states you should massage for 7 days every 4 weeks. Scalp massage is always beneficial, but for rapid growth I think you should stick to the 7 days and see how it works for you. Cutting out heat and eating a rich protein diet will certainly help.
Hi Anushka.... Firstly, I'd say a big thanks to you, for stating it all out as detailed and simplified as possible. More so, I'll just add that from the hundreds of comments here, I've deduced that you seem to really be so positive about the efficacy of THE INVERSION METHOD, and for something which you've clearly stated that you're overly uncertain of it's outcome for each individual, I'd say, making it your number one go-to recommendation in all your replies seems rather Not-So-Encouraging and less than ideal. Nevertheles,I'm a man, though born in Atlanta,GA, I do have a deep Nigerian heritage,I'm talking both parents deep... So yeah, git the short, black curly hair and all that sstuff... After 4months,t's currently in a semi-afro state, but I wish to make it grow longer, like so much.... So, fingers crossed, I'm really routing on these solutions working for me as wella.... Giving it a shot....taking a full go at it.
Hi Airyeez, thanks for taking the time to write to me and sharing your thoughts on the article and the tips. I recommend the inversion method a lot (even though I can't guarantee it will work for everyone) because it's free, it's easy to do and it worked for me. I think it's fairly easy to try out, and there is no cost involved if you do it without oil, so it is my go-to tip! I firmly believe diet is really important too which is why I ask people to follow the tips in the article - some people may not be able to implement all but diet and scalp massage is really beneficial not just for hair growth but healthy hair and body. Good luck with your hair growth, I really hope you'll notice a difference. Please keep me updated!
My hair just never gets clean no matter how i wash it. I have tried parting it and stuff but no difference. I am African and my hair is a very thick Afro which does not help matters. My real greatest problem is that i can't wash my hair everyday for 7 days. It would shrink beyond imagination. Is it necessary you wash out the coconut oil and also, do you have any advice on how to wash my hair?
Hi there, if your hair is greasy then I wouldn't recommend using the oil every day - maybe just once a week and you only need the smallest amount. You can do the inversion method without oil - just gently massage your scalp every day for the 7 days. In terms of washing your hair, try to use a small amount of product and use luke warm water to rinse your hair. I hope this helps.
Hi! I was wondering if we massage our scalp seven days every month, or is it an every day thing (without the oil)?
Yes you should do it for seven days only! You can use oil or you can do it without, it's whatever you prefer.
Thankyou for sharing these helpful tips. I agree with the biotin thing, it works wonders for my hair. I also use curry powder and curd along with the onion juice to make my hair thick, long and bouncy. :) Do check out my hair story as well.
Oh wow that's interesting - curry powder, curd and onion juice! Where is the link to your hair story Shefali?
Thank you so much for sharing your method, My hair had cut very short and I am very up-sad now. So i want to try your method as far as possible. It compulsory to eat egg for hair growth because I am veg. I even notice my friends who love egg and she eat many. I notice her hair is growing very fast. Mind was just opposite to her. Thank you
You're welcome Sangay, good luck with the tips. Yes egg is very good for your hair, but you can take in protein in other forms and hopefully that will help!
Hey what kind of coconut oil do you use or should we use?
Any raw organic coconut oil will be fine!
Do you have to use coconut oil ? Is there other options
Hi Katherine, you don't have to use coconut oil no. You can use a good hair conditioner or even a touch of olive oil. It makes it easier to massage your scalp, and also provides a good conditioning treatment at the same time.
My hair is too short what can i do. I use only coconut oil in 1 day in 1 week . so mam plz tell what can i do i grow our hair fastly. My hair is also curly ... So mam plz tell i use only coconut oli . plz tell
Hi Prachi, why don't you follow the steps in the article? I think it will really help! I recommend head massage and use of coconut oil, it's detailed in the article above.
Thx a lot I hope the oil one does work to me coz all the others haven't, including one with egg and olive oil lol, any way, I'll try all of them ^_^
I'm trying to grow my hair long as I recently cut my hair and realised that even after one month it didn't grow. I'm definitely going to try this method out and I'll come back and tell you if it's working!
Hi Isabelle please do let me know how you get on!
Hey, Great article for hair care. Thanks for sharing.
Where can I find the Lee Stafford products, or similar products in the US?
How much oils do you use and best way to apply, have tried oils in the past but it leaves my hair greasy
Hi Beth, it really depends on how thick and long your hair is. I use around half a teaspoon and I have mid-length hair to my shoulders. A little goes a long way though so I would just add a few drops/amounts at a time and massage in. You can always add more.
This article was really helpful for my hair growth. Thanks a lot anushka. Your article was so interesting and I hope you would make more articles like this. Thanks a lot!
Hi Jane thank you! Much appreciated. I'm glad you found it helpful, I've written another article which you can find at https://experthometips.com/the-secret-to-growing-the-longest-hair-in-the-world
This article was really helpful for my hair growth. Thanks a lot anushka. Your article was so interesting and I hope you would make more articles like this. This article was very meaningful and I love it! Thanks a lot!
Hello, I just found your blog and was interested in your thoughts. My hair seems grows pretty fast, I've had it short for the past 4 years and the cut usually gets messy after about 8 weeks. This drives me nuts, previously I always had long hair and found it easier to manage. Now I want to grow it out quickly and I've noted your comments on coconut, argon and olive oils but was curious as I've seen no one mention cold pressed castor oil. I've found this fantastic for my eyelashes and started using it for its rejuvenating and growing properties. I would have thought the properties in it that are useful for lashes ie the nutrients and folicle stimulation would work the same with hair. The cold pressed castor oil seems to be valued higher for eyelash growth than the other three oils that are mentioned here for hair. Just wondering, lol, discuss.
Hi Suzanne! Thanks for your comments, I've had a short hair cut and while it was a nice change I did find it incredibly hard to manage! I am a big fan of oils, in general, to be honest, I agree cold pressed castor oil is fantastic for eyelashes and hair but in my personal experience I didn't find that it worked better or less than coconut or olive oil. But, having said that I do know people who swear by it. I would say it's not an exact science so whichever you prefer and works for you. I like to get mini bottles wherever possible and figure out what works for me.
Mah hairs grow too slow.... Nd mah nails grow fast.... Some people says tht u have curly hairs that's why it grows slow.... So take a treatment of parmnent hair straight. . So what should I do......
Hi Meher, hair straightening treatment may help give the illusion that your hair is growing faster as it's growing down straight rather than in a spiral but it won't affect your actual hair growth rate. I would suggest giving the inversion method a try and seeing if it works for you.
Great article Anushka, Thanks for sharing such a great tips to make our hair grow faster. Your article provides the informative content about how actually hair grows and the phases of hair production. I appreciate your article. I am also having a website named Miemani which is the best hair repair salon in the East London. It offers different hair styles, and hair repair services at the affordable price.
Hi there! Thanks for your lovely comments, I'm pleased you like the article and the tips. Oh fantastic I will be sure to take a look at your website!
Should we wash our hairs daily after the inversion method with coconut oil massaging????? please tell me as soon as possible,......
Hi Sahu! Coconut oil is a great moisturiser, so you might not need to wash your hands.
Does bajaj almond oil help in protecting hairfall and also for faster hair growth...becoz i m suffering too much hair loss ......plz answer me..
Hi Manoj, I have heard good things about this oil but I have not tried it personally so I can't give my opinion. I hope you'll maybe take some tips from the article.
i had a big chop (cut off my hair) in august 2015, my hair is growing really long but the middle part is veeery slow at growing and it is shorter than the rest of my hair... should i cut my hair again or is there something i can use for my hair to be the same length?
Hi Johanna, thanks for your question. Do you mean your middle parting is growing slowly? Have you found the parting is getting bigger? It sounds like you may have some slow hair growth, give the tips in the article a go. I wouldn't suggest cutting your hair again unless you prefer it to be shorter.
The Inversion method. Haha. I did not realize at first how much of an afro it will give you if you massage your scalp for 5 minutes when you have only have 4.5 inches of curly hair. My question is it better to massage it when wet, dry or with oils?
Haha it's a great volume booster! Hhm personally I like to massage dry hair with a little bit of oil and then leave the oil in overnight. I don't like to massage my hair too much in the shower when it's wet as I find I loose a lot of hair this way.
Hahaha,i will try it oooo because i want my hair to be long ooh
Great! Let me know how you get on Juliet.
This article was really helpful for my hair growth. Thanks a lot Anushka Maa'm. Your article was so interesting and I hope you would make more articles like this. Thanks a lot!
thy solution is too long.
thy solution is too long. and so booring
please i need help.my hair is short now i want to growth long hair in 2 week.
Hi Samuel please follow the steps and advice in the article. Let me know how you get on...
Hi what's the best way to measure my hair? Thanks
Hi there, I use a ruler or a tape measure. I take some hairs from the front, side and back and measure them separately and note them down. Just pull your hair a little taught and then measure the entire strand - you might want some help from a friend!
Hello, I have been struggling with my hair for about 4 months now. Back in May I had decided to go back to my natural hair color from being platinum blonde. My natural is an ashy dark dirty blonde. Unfortunately doing it at home was my first mistake, and I ended up with red hair. I went to my old high school which has a salon with students working in it, which was my second mistake. They got my hair to a more manageable color but cut off around 3-4 inches when I only wanted 1 inch off. I was devastated.. and my hair was very very dry and thin and lifeless everywhere except about 5 inches on the top of my head. Since then I have added a lot more blonde highlights to get closer to my natural color as it wasn't going a weird orange red color from the previous red dye. It has gotten a lot more moisturized and feels much less dry since then, but regardless is still very stringy and lifeless looking and very hard to style and maintain volume. The natural state of my hair has never been very volumous , but when I had bleached it the texture changed and it felt a lot thicker. I desperately want that hair back but cannot bleach my hair in this state.. so the only thing I can really do is grow it all out again till I have my natural 100% hair back to bleach it again , with caution to have minimal damage. I have been taking hairbrush vitamins, a b-complex vitamin, as well as trying to drink more water and eat more of the right foods. I've also recently started doing a castor oil and coconut oil leave in treatment, which has made it feel stronger. Do you have any advice for me? I am just so desperate to feel some weight to my hair.. it feels like air when I move my head back and forth and doesn't even feel like it's there. I also have parts on the top of my head on the right side that got burned off from bleaching back in January this year, they have grown about 6 inches out now but look very odd and stick out unless I straighten them with light heat. I don't straighten any other parts of my hair anymore as I used to every day and that definitely contributed to the damage I face now. I used to have such beautiful long healthy hair and my confidence has mostly diminished because of all this. I am just desperate to feel like myself again. Thank you for taking the time to read :)
hair vitamins* sorry not hairbrush
Hi Jennifer, thanks for your comment. I know how you feel, your confidence does take such a beating when your hair is not how you would like it to be and it can be very frustrating. It sounds like you're taking all the right steps to getting your hair back to good health. Eating a protein rich diet with plenty of vegetables and doing a moisturising treatment every week will certainly help, but it might be best to stay away from heat tools at the moment - perhaps you could clip your hair back or use a head tie or hairband to keep those rogue hairs in place for the time being. Perhaps you could see a hair stylist and get some advice on how to naturally style your hair at the moment, without the need for hot tools, while you grow it out? I have found this incredibly useful in the past - they will go through a few different hairstyles with you that will be easy to achieve at home. Have you tried the inversion method or at least gently massaging your scalp? I'm a big fan of this, as I find it increases hair growth but is also really good for your scalp. How often are you washing your hair? It will take time to bring your hair back to good health so continue what you are doing, and I hope you will see some improvement in the next few months. Anushka
I just really need hope that it will eventually get it's elasticity back and feel, look, and become thicker. Meant to add this to my main comment but accidentally deleted this tab on my browser and lost it.
as for me... I av a very stubborn hair n a lot of dandruff in my hair. I just started making my hair in may n we r in September bt still my hair seems too slow In growth. I tried relaxing it but it didn't even relax.... it still luks virgin as usual.... so I dnt know if der could b a different solution to dis problem of mine. I am thinking it's jst because I am a Nigerian. but still some of us have long hair including my mom. I dnt knw maybe I am not being patient or it is d nature of my hair
Hey there, dandruff and an unhealthy scalp could be contributing to your hair problems. I would start with trying to get rid of the dandruff, there are quite a few over-the-counter treatments or you could find a natural remedy (apple cider vinegar perhaps?) to help. It's really important to maintain a healthy scalp so I would recommend doing this, cutting back on how many times you wash your hair as if you wash it more frequently it could make the problem worse. Try a little head massage every few days too, drink plenty of water and a healthy balanced diet with plenty of protein. It may take time, but hopefully, you will start to see an improvement - let me know how you get on!
I shaved my head this time last year and had about 8 inches of growth from that time. Growing fast is totally an issue for me but also once I grow it out the bottom 3 inches or so are dead. And I mean D.E.A.D. frizzy, white nasty dead ends. What the heck causes that and what do I do?
Hi Sarah. It sounds like you achieved really great results with your hair growth. The problem is that hair needs regular maintenance, or else the ends will become unhealthy and split. I'd recommend you to get it cut regularly (a small trim every 2 months) from now on. I hope this helps :)
Can hair grow fast in oiling with almond oil?
Hi Caira. We recommend using coconut oil :)
I've heard before that you can use Vitamin E oil in shampoo in your hair to help it detangle and I've also heard that you can use it on a scar or something like that in order to thin the blood a little and make it heal faster so that would definitely help blood flow, so if there's no other underlying medical issues do you think it would be okay to use Vitamin E oil mixed with coconut oil for the inversion method to induce more blood flow to the hair follicles
Hi Charity. Have you tried the inversion method? We find this to be the best for stimulating blood flow.
I need a long hair with in two weeks
Hi Nadeesha. Follow our tips and they should help encourage hair growth :)
Hi I'm jamaican..will the method work with my hair . I had beautiful hair once but I cought Dandruff's and it droped off and after years of doctors treatment and everything it won't grow so what will I suggest. Its been like this for 7 years now
Hi Quanda. We cannot advise on your hair specifically, but we have personally seen lots of success with the method stated across lots of different hair types. I hope this helps! :)
I asked my hairstylist how to grow my hair faster and she said to cut my hair at least every 2-6 months. Is that true?
Hi Abigail. Most hairdressers recommend regular haircuts as they remove the split ends, which can lead to hair breaking and becoming shorter. I hope this helps! :)
Thank you so much!!! This helped a ton!!
You're welcome Hannah! Glad we were able to help :)
My hair is thinking. I will massage with coconut oil as mentioned. Plz send me a mail if I need any extra care. I am a male
Hi Biswadeep. Good luck with the coconut oil treatment, we hope it helps! :)
Actually I just rebond(straight ) my hair and its look really ugly for my face. I seriously dont know how to get rid off it. My plan is hoping my original hair grow faster so that I can just cut the straight hair. Anyway my original hair is curl.Any advise please??? Help needed
Hi Shetty. Sorry to hear you don't like your straightened hair. Follow the tips given in the article and they should encourage your hair to grow faster :)
Hey I have really short hair and it's taking forever to grow! Will this actually help it get healthier and grow faster?
Hi Nicki. Although I didn't write this article, I have had wonderful results trying some of Anushka's tips. The inversion method in particular worked really well for me :) I'd definitely give it a go!
I AM A MALE AND I TRIED COCONUT OIL ON MY SCALP BUT......... MY HAIR DIDN'T GROW ALL THE WAY. IT GREW SLIGHTLY.
Hi Mastuh. Have you tried using the inversion method?
My was really good and healthy 3 years ago. with time I started ironing my and using heat a lot so my is thinning its weak and I also feel like its lifeless (although its not). I started growing it by using natural oils and it did work but my hair is naturally oily and it made more oily and greasy but I did not care because it worked but at some point my hair stopped responding to the natural oil treatments and i also tried watching my diet but I think I was doing it wrong. When I see my hair 3 years back it was so healthy it was not oily or greasy it was thick. I hope you can tell me about more treatments!!!
Hi Lujain, have you tried the inversion method? I've personally found it to be really effective :)
Hi! I recently have gotten a shoulder length hair cut and although I love it, I miss my long hair. I have been doing the inversion method for about a week and it doesn't seem to be doing much. I hope to try and grow it 7 inches by April (it is now October.) Could I be doing something wrong? Thank you!
Hi Kara. Keep at it! Make sure you have your head hung low and are massaging for long enough to really see the effects. I hope this helps! :)
I've been searching for a hair grow vitamin from France, made with fish oils. I read that Demi Moore used it after she shaved her head for the movie G.I. Jane, and have been searching for it ever since! Can you help me find it?
Hi Alishia. Do you mean https://www.johnlewis.com/phyto-phytophanere-dietary-supplement-120-capsules/p231369469?sku=231369469&s_kwcid=2dx92700026893102206&tmad=c&tmcampid=2&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI9aDj98if1wIVFW4bCh2KNwRuEAQYAiABEgK_d_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds ? I hope this helps.
Hi Anushka I hope I spelled your name correctly. I turned 61 in July and 2017 I had 13 inches of long dark brown gray hair and I'm looking forward in starting you're method in helping growing my hair long and strong. I'LL keep you and the lady's posted. Sincerely Robert
Thanks. again I enjoyed reading you're article
Hi Robert. Wow, your hair is almost as long as mine! I hope you find our tips to be helpful. Let us know how you get on :)
Does bajaj almond oil help in protecting hairfall and also for faster hair growth and also fast remedy for dandruff.
Hi Ipsa. We have always chosen to use coconut oil, but you could give bajaj almond oil a go :)
Hi there, I am.really struggle to grow. I love very curly hair and would love to grow my hair shoulder length. Please help I don't blow dry every week. Most time wet it.. Just need a nice bundle of Curls of my own. Thanks
Hi Sandra. If you follow our tips, you should see a noticeable change in the rate of your hair growth.
You really write well. I am inspired and going to try the inverse method.
Hi ELvis. Thanks a lot for your kind comments :) I hope you have lots of success with our tips.
Hi I have followed the inversion method and massaged coconut oil into m hair 2 times a week... My hair grew 2.5 inches within 2 months of continuous routine. Thank you soooo much. These tips realy are true!!!!!
Hi Paini. We're so happy to hear the tips worked for you! Keep up the great work :)
can i use sarson oil instead of coconut oil
Hi Ankush. I would recommend using coconut oil.
Hey, I'm not very old but my hair has really been suffering....I had been skipping conditioner, using a lot of shampoo, showering in steaming hot water, and not getting my hair cut for maybe even over a year! I have been following these tips for about a month. My favorite meathod is using the coconut oil. My parents buy it for the dogs food, (to keeps their coat healthy, your welcome mom?), so I use it as well. Thank you soooo much for the tips. My hair has grown ALOT!
I told all my friends and family to look at this website too! ?
Hi Meredith. Sorry to hear you were having trouble with your hair. We often forget just how fragile it can be - it's really important to look after it! I'm so glad to hear our tips have been helping you out. Here's to many more years of a happy head of hair!
ma'am I'll try. thx 4 telling me about it.
You're welcome! Good luck with the tips :)
Really a helpful article it really helps me to grow my hair fast...thanks for sharing...always share these type of post...
Hi Ahsan. We're really glad you enjoyed the post and hope our tips can help you :)
My hair use to be really long and pretty.. i haven't gotten it cut or anything. It's shorter, it breaks off and everyone thinks I got a hair cut. I did the coconut oil treatment for a month but it didn't work for my hair.I took Biotin tablets and they didn't really work either. I want my hair to be long again but i'm not sure what to do.
Hi Whitney. I'm so sorry you're having problems with your hair - we can all relate! You say it breaks off, in which case you might actually NEED a haircut. This will keep it healthy and prevent it from splitting. With regards to other solutions, have you tried any hair treatments? LUSH have some great ones, and there are also hundreds online you can make at home? It sounds to me like your hair is not necessarily struggling to grow, but is unhealthy and therefore you are losing length and fullness. I hope these tips help :)
I hello, I am new to theses natural remedies to help with hair growth. I did try thr egg beaten and then used the big tub of cocnt oil but how do I get it to spread easier it just wants to stay in chunks and hard to spread.?
Hi Kathy. Coconut oil melts when heated. If you rub it into your hands, it will liquidify in no time at all. I hope this helps. :)
Is it possible to grow your hair 15 inches in a year and a half? Regards, Mel
Hi Mel. The average rate of hair growth is roughly 0.5inches/month so achieving 15 inches in a year and a half is very unlikely. To increase hair growth, be sure to try out tips! I thoroughly recommend coconut oil and the inversion method :)
I'm literally frustrated from my hair fall. I'm just in college and I have been doing home remedies and taking Biotin medicines from past 1month and I don't get any results. What should I do?
Hi there Twinkle, Sorry to hear you're frustrated with your hair. I know how it feels when all you want is it to grow yet it's going nowhere! Have you tried the Inversion Method yet? It takes a bit of effort, but it worked wonders for me and I'm sure it could for you too. I hope this helps. :)
Does it work for African Americans to
Hi London, I can't speak from experience but I would definitely give the coconut oil & conversion method a try :)
Hey guys, thanks for the fantastic tips in this article! I didn't know prior to the benefits of coconut oil on hair as I found it very sticky and hard to style my hair. It was my mother who would regularly apply this on weekends I guess it was an indian practice but I'm glad that she did and now I know the benefits. I can grow 1-1.5 inches per month. I'm a vegetarian and work-out regularly so this adds on top of all this. I can safely say this DOES WORK and your eating style plays a key role in this. Thanks for sharing these tips!
Hi Dev. So glad you found the tips useful! Thanks a lot for sharing your experience :)
Hey! So... it might be a little too early to share my thoughts, because it's been only a few days I read this things above, but somewhere in my unconsciousness I never really wanted to believe these tips work, because for example on youtube - where I spend half my life - there are so many videos about this, and they are so clickbait, and the uploaders basically advertise a lot of products as well if you know what I mean.. But your tutorial seemed legit to me, and I've read it from the first word to the last. So what I did was to buy... let me get them... uhm so here we go: HARKONTROLL BOOST that says it contains keratin, zink, koppar, (copper ???), niacin, pantotensyra, vitamin B6, and BIOTIN, I also bought B Active tablettes, that mentions TONS of vitamins on the container, and I bought some walnuts, pecans, and peanuts as well. Then the inversion method... I already did 4 days, so there is 3 more left, and in the first 2 days I did not actually hang my head down, I was just lying on the bed, and I don't use coconut oil, I just applied some Garnier hair conditioner before the 5 minute massage... but I think the change is already visible. Also my hair is very short now, and during the last week I pushed it back with a beanie, but today when I got out of the shower I pulled my "bangs" down on my forehead, and I think it wasn't that long a week ago. Keep in mind I have 3 days left of the inversion method, but since I decided to grow my hair long again, I will repeat the process in January. If I do so, I will share if I got good results
Hi there Xander. I'm glad you had faith to trust out tutorial! We really have had lots of success with it and I hope you do too. The one thing I would mention is that when doing the inversion method, it's extremely important to hang your head low. This forces blood to rush to the head which helps to stimulate the hair follicles and promote growth. Do let us know how you got on - we can't wait to see the results! :)
I don't really have money so I cant do a few of these. Any tips that are cheap and make hair grow super quick? I don't need stronger hair or anything like that.
Hi Allys. The inversion method is free and easy to do! Sit down with your head between your legs, and massage your scalp for 10 minutes a day. By the end of the week, you should already have noticed a dramatic increase in length. I hope this helps :)
Hi so I just recently donated 10 inches off of my hair to an organization that makes wigs for cancer patients, and my hair is now not even touching my shoulders:( I am also in a wedding the first week of February, and i need my hair to grow FAST for the wedding. But I am afraid these tips are not going to work, or be a waste of time(of which i don't have a lot of). My hair also sucks to get oil out of so what treatment do you recommend?
Hi Maddie. First off, a big well done to you for donating - how brave and thoughtful of you. Secondly, I think shoulder length hair can be beautiful, so don't worry about looking nice in those wedding pictures. I would recommend the inversion method, 100%. The coconut oil is mainly for hair repair and strength, so if you're struggling for time, I'd opt to increase growth-rate through stimulation of the scalp. Let us know how you get on! :)
hi this is skylah and i am awsome
Hey, I have really curly hair and I used to hate it a lot so I would straighten my hair everyday and it’s my biggest regret cuz I fried my hair... I want to regrow it and I’ve tried everything possible. What is you main recommendation to get my hair length back
Hi Charity. It sounds like your hair needs some nourishment! All is not lost, though, coconut oil should soon sort you out. I'd recommend using coconut oil a few times a week, regular trims (to keep your hair healthy and from splitting, which will lead to it shortening) and finally the inversion method to stimulate hair growth. I hope this helps :)
I have been growing my hair out now it will be about 2 months on the 26th of December. Before reading all the tips and strategies that were suggested i had already been practicing a few that was mentioned. Before my beard amd head hair was very thin and wasnt growing any longer but now my hair is already about 3 inches long. Boiton was a huge factor in my journey. I take the 5000ml biotin pill with a one a day vitamin every day just to cover what my diet may be lacking. I also message my scalp once a day with miss jessies curl conditioner followed with cold water everyday . I will keep you updated on how far my hair comes.
Hi Lamont. Wow, it sounds like you have been doing all the right things and achieved some really fantastic results by doing so! We're so glad to hear you've found a solution that really works for your hair. Please do keep us updated - we love hearing hair-success stories!
On the 20th of December 2017, I was playing with my short, dried hair (which was on average 1 inch) in the front of my head but I accidentally tangled it so bad that I had to cut it off with a pair of stationnary scissors. It is very noticeable when I have a high ponytail but you can't see it when I have a low ponytail when it is split down the middle. Luckily it's quite small (2.5cmx1.5cm) but I'm scared that it might not grow back. Do you think it will grow back and if so, what do you recommend for my hair?
Hi Ammaarah, The best thing about hair, is that it almost always grows back, so don't fret! You have said your hair is dry, so first and foremost I would recommend a coconut oil treatment to renourish it and get it looking and feeling healthy again. Secondly, I would advise the inversion method to encourage hair growth. Do these things, and within a few months your hair should look better than ever! I hope this helps :)
Coconut oil really works well
It certainly does, Heavenly, and it smells great too!
Heya! So, I'm going to try the cold water and inversion method (without the oil). Do you think that would still help with only doing 2 out of the options?
Hi Taylor. I would say, from personal experience, the inversion method is the most effective for hair GROWTH. If you want to maintain your hair health and growth, I would advise a coconut oil treatment too as it nourishes the hair and keeps it healthy. I hope this helps :)
Ugh, I just cut off 8 inches and I'm sick over it. Granted I needed a good cut, but it's too short for me. I am so thankful for this article! Sittin here with coconut oil in my hair and I love the smell!
Hi Julie, Sorry to hear about your hair! On the bright side, however, is that it's guaranteed to grow back. I hope you have success with the tips and we look forward to hearing about your results.
Do yoou need to wash off the coconut oil all the time or can you leave it
Hi Ivyena. You can leave it on overnight under a shower cap if you wish, which will serve as a deeply-moisturising hair mask. However, I wouldn't leave it on during the day. The oil will stain your clothes and can also make your hair look very greasy and unclean. I hope this helps :)
I have recently had my hair bleached for the first time. I was not planning to do it, but it turned out that my hairdresser didn't understand me. Half of my hair was bleached ( at the bottom), and some parts of my hair was bleached at the roots. Yesterday I noticed that the bleached parts were starting to break off, and I am very worried that eventually all of the hair that was bleached at the top will break off before new hair grows. If that would happen it would be terrible, since my hair is already thin and will look completely see-through. Will all the bleached hair break off?
Hi Maria, There is no telling how your hair will react to the bleach, as everyone's is different. However, it is unlikely that your har will split at the roots - it splits at the end as this is where hair is weakest. I would recommend putting as much nutrition back into it as possible by using a good-quality hair mask or coconut oil treatment. I hope this helps :)
Hi, just wanted to share something interesting, I combined my Coco-nut oil with Aloe plant & the combination works wonders. It helps my hair stay healthy!
Hi Kristin. This sure does sound like a winning combination! Thanks for sharing :)
I just got my hair cut to around mid-back but before that I had waist length hair. I really miss my long hair and want to know how well the inversion-with-coconut-oil method works. I'm hoping by the end of this month my hair will be back to it's original length. Is it possible for it to all grow back in a month? (I just started the inversion method)
Hi E.H. The inversion method can dramatically increase the rate of hair growth, however, results vary from person to person. I'd say it will take a few months at least to grow your hair back, but it would take much longer without the inversion method! Good luck :)
I just got a short haircut and it looks really bad...and my hair is dyed black. It used to be brown. Will these tips work on colored hair?
Hi Izumi. Sorry to hear you don't like your new haircut! There's no reason why these tips wouldn't work on coloured hair so you should be fine. Good luck! :)
HI I always tried to have long hair but then I cut it short and now it’s mid length, I want my hair to grow at least 3 inches please are their any home remedies that I can try, or are their any hair masks I can get to make it grow faster.?
Hi Ava. Please refer to the article which is full of ways you can make your hair grow faster :)
can sulfur 8 be helpful when growing your hair? The reason why I ask is because last month, I bought some to help me grow my hair out & How must I do the inversion method? Should I use oil & other things when doing it or no?
Hi Mastuh. We don't have any experience with Sulfur 8, so can't advise on this. We prefer other natural methods, such as the inversion method and using coconut oil. Please follow the instructions in the blog post for guidance using the inversion method. I hope this helps :)
Hi, right now I have hair till my shoulder , I'm 5'3 in height , I want to grow till my waist quickly . Please tell me how many months I will need?
Hi Mrunmayee. Your hair's rate of growth depends on many different factors, so giving an accurate estimate would be hard. The hair grows an average of 1/2 inch per month, so if you measure from your shoulders to your waist, you should get a rough idea of how long this will take. Speed the process up by trying some of our hair growth tips! :)
hey so, i cut my hair, really really short yesterday. and i need it to ATLEAST my shoulder in the next month or 2, is that possible? right now its at my ear
Hi Katelyn.Your natural rate of hair growth will determine whether or not this will be achievable. Following our tips in the article will definitely help you speed things up a bit, and give you the best chance at getting the shoulder length hair you're after :)
Hi. I have really think hair but it’s around shoulder length. I don’t want it to get thicker but wanted it to grow out as much as possible, as soon as possible. Do these methods thicken your hair or just lengthen it?? Also how well do they work as I would really like long hair as soon as possible as having it styled soon. Thank you :))
Hiya Emily. Thanks a lot for getting in touch. Our methods stimulate hair growth. This won't increase the amount of hair strands you have, just their rate of growth. Your hair will thus, remain just as thick, but grow more. I hope this helps :)
I'm just starting my hair journey cus I was on low cut before I'm sure going to try dis method but pls I bought a product for my hair growth (kuza - 100% Indian hemp) I don't know if it good for my hair pls reply so I will knw if to stop it or continue with it
Hi Ife. Unfortunately, we've never tried Indian Hemp, so we can't advise on this. Let us know how you get on! Hep oil is notoriously rich in nutrients, so I'm confident it will nourish your hair :) Thanks Steph
This really worked! thanks to whoever you are helping out on how to grow our hair with healthy and fastest way!
Bad hair cut-what should I do?!
Hi Franco. Follow the tips in our article and it will be back to normal in no time at all :)
Hi I have really short thick hair and I cannot buy or eat anything new.. what should I do?
Hi Ally. I'd recommend the inversion method! All you need are your fingers :)
I will definitely be trying this advice. My hair is currently at my waist, but my man would love for it to reach my ankles lol. My issues are dry brittle hair that also falls out easily. I love extremely hot showers and am certainly not looking forward to the cold rinse, but if it does nothing but stop it from falling out so easy, it's definitely worth a try. Thanks for the advice. I'm also amazed at the amount of people still asking, How do I make my hair grow faster?" Um, try actually reading the article, or if needed, read it again.
Hi Dawn. Glad to hear you found the article useful. You'll be amazed at how quickly you adapt to a cold rinse at the end of your shower - it'll definitely wake you up, that's for sure! Hope you have loads of success with the tips :)
lowkey might try this even though i dont lime peanuts lol
I have these really short hairs along my parting at the top of my head That look very odd. They don’t fit in with the rest of my hair(which is shoulder length) and really want to grow them. I don’t know what to do with them while they are growing and they won’t stay in a place. If I just do the inversion method with the coconut oil how long to you with it with take to grow and also is it okay to use hairspray ?
Hi Emma. Unfortunately, these are baby hairs. I too have bad ones at the front and despite everything I've tried, they won't seem to grow or go! My best suggestion is using hairspray/other products to keep them neatly in place. I've found using a volumizing mousse before blow-drying off my forehead seems to work best.
I had chemotherapy and radiation for tonsil cancer about 10 years ago and I can't get my hair to grow no matter what I've tried. I was told to try coconut oil and a regrowth hair product. Will it work or any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Hi Selena. Sorry to hear about your suffering with tonsil cancer. It's great to hear you're on the mend! You could also try the inversion method to stimulate hair growth. Regrowth hair product also sounds like a good idea. Do let us know how you get on! Thanks, Steph
It is truly shocking just how many people skipped reading the article and just went straight to the comments to ask what advice there was to help them grow their hair. I have to wonder if they are just that lazy or did they assume the better recommendations were being withheld for some reason (which would be a ridiculous thing to do) and the article just gave generic advice? Did they imagine the writer saved the best advice for themselves but it would then be shared if asked about it in a comment? The article and all the comments took me just over 6 minutes to read so it's no wonder that the school system is being criticized and that there is a definate lag behind other countries when it comes to education. It's crazy. Have a great day!
Ur very kind
My hair actually changes color. It is sometimes red, sometimes brown, and sometimes blond. I don't know what color it is. It's naturally very curly, but not ringlets, spirals. It is very, very, soft. It's not thick or thin. But ever since I was a child I wanted really, really long hair. But it always stops and gets course once it's a centimeter above my elbow. It just always stops. And I want to grow it long for once. I don't really know much about hair care, am low budget, and don't have much time. I'm vegetarian, and I'm a competitive swimmer, so I have to swim in chlorine 5 days a week. I'm clueless! Please help!
Hi Meredith. It sounds to me like the chlorine is definitely damaging your hair. Are you using a water-tight cap when swimming? Additionally, are you having it cut regularly? Chlorine will damage your hair, making it more prone to splitting. Regular haircuts will prevent this. I would recommend using a weekly hair treatment, such as coconut oil or a specific hair mask from LUSH to reinject nutrients back into your hair. I hope this helps. Thanks, Steph
Hi there, Really keen to try your recipe for longer hair! Just wanted to ask with regards to the massage for 5min for 7 days (no longer no less) .... is this on a fortnightly basis, monthly? Look for to your response.
Hi Nalanie. We're happy to hear you'll be giving the inversion mehtod a go, and thank you for your question. The inversion method should be done for 1 week, with 2 weeks break, then repeated. I hope this helps :)
Hi Nalanie. We're happy to hear you'll be giving the inversion mehtod a go, and thank you for your question. The inversion method should be done for 1 week, with 2 weeks break, then repeated. I hope this helps :)
I have been coloring my hair, only because i have lots of grey. Since i been coloring i have the grey It looks dried. What can i do to get rid of grey? Also want it to grow fast. Please help
Hi Casondra. If you insist on dying your hair, it's more important than ever to give it extra nourishment to ensure it stays healthy and looks shiny too. Coconut oil should definitely help with this.
Hi Stephanie, and Anushka i have super thinning hair, and it tangles SUPER EASILY. do you think coconut oil will help with it? Thanks, Paige
Hi Paige. Sorry to hear you're frustrated with your hair. Coconut oil will definitely help with the nourishment, as should also help it from tangling. I would, however, recommend the inversion method to encourage hair growth and also make sure you are eating a variety of fruits and vegetables to provide your hair with all the nourishment it needs. I hope this helps. Thanks, Steph
Anushka....i owned a Holistic Health Center in Naples, Florida and was recommending Silica for hair and nails over 20 years ago...maybe 30! I will be 60 years old this year and still have hair to mid back. I am going to try coconut oil ON HAIR. I have been using it for other purposes for years but trying massage and coconut oil....will let you know results. Will be charting results and taking pics!
Hi Dr Moore. Thanks a lot for getting in touch. Your hair sounds absolutely amazing - it's what many of us dream of having! We'd be very interested in seeing the results once you've finished - please do send them in! Thanks a lot :)
waw how can I get these products
Hi Amaka, They're available at most Health Stores such as Holland & Barrett.
Can this work with boys african hair ?
Hi HS, We don't have any personal experience on this, but I don't see why you couldn't give it a go.
How Much coconut oil do you put on your hair?
Hi Taylor. This really depends on the length of your hair. You need enough to cover the scalp and the hair from root to tip. I hope this helps :)
Hi I dealing with frizzy dry split ends and I have no idea what to do and I am Italian and it gets real with the friz Love, Addison
Hi Addison, I think you should definitely try using coconut oil. It's extremely nourishing and should sort our your dryness and split ends. I hope this helps. Steph
No way girlfriend!!! (:p)
Quick Question, how exactly do you apply the coconut oil? Do you just rub it in your hair like its conditioner? Then how long should you leave it before washing out?
Hi Ethan. You massage the coconut oil into your hair. It should melt in your hands and make this process easier. Leave for 30 minutes under a shower cap, then rinse. I hope this helps. Steph
I had really long hair. Well back in December I cut it up to my shoulders(12in.) Got cut off. I'm in desperate need to grow it back out to its original length by May. I've read the article and was wondering how well it really works to try the inversion method and coconut oil works.
Hi Angela, Give it a go and you won't be disappointed!
Hey There! I was wondering would combing my hair after massging the scalp be okay or would it be harmful. My hair has been growing faster after using this method though thanks!!!!!
Hi Dilpreet. Combing is always a good idea, as it too massaged the hair follicles and encourages growth. Keep up the good work. :)
Hello! When using the coconut oil, should I rinse it out with cold water or hot water? And also, how often would you recommend I wash my hair?
Hi Liv, You'll need to rinse in with shampoo as it can be stubborn to remove. Hot water is fine, but try and finish off your hair washing with cold water, as this adds shine :)
Hi, How often do you recommend a hair cut alongside these methods
Hi Louise, Depending on how much you style your hair with heat, we'd recommend a cut every 2 months or so. It's REALLY important to keep hair in good condition.
Ok thanks Stephanie. I’m excited to try these methods! I’ll let you know how this works for me
I recently got my haircut and I don’t like the length of it. I️ was just wondering if any of these styles could damage your hair?
Hi Susie. None of our tips will damage your hair, only improve it :)
Hey this was really helpful so u have any tips to get rid of frizzy hair?
Hi Sierra. Have you tried using a curl tamer product or a serum? These should help.
I can't seem to figure out how to get my hair to grow longer because right now right now it is really short and I need help to figure how to make it into a shoulder length hair?
Hi Chloe. If you follow the tips in the article, your rate of hair growth should definitely increase :)
I have been trying to grow my hair longer for a year and it's just stuck, I take Biotin 10,000 mcg and my hair is thicker for sure, I have new hair, I Added collagen and vitamin c, I have not tried the inversion method, I do have dry hair, so oil is what I need, can I add egg and flaxseed oil with coconut oil when I massage my head and can I leave these ingredients overnight? I need a quick response!!!
Hi Sandra. I'd really recommend trying the inversion method, as it honestly works a treat. None of these ingredients will damage your hair, but perhaps your sheets! Why not try using the coconut oil alone first, as recommended in the article, and see how you get on? I hope this helps :)
What happen if I use the inversion methood every single day?
Hi Albana, Your scalp will grow used to the stimulation, and it will no longer have such a great effect. This is why we recommend taking a break in between cycles. I hope this helps :)
My hair has always taken forever to grow, so I am excited to try these methods. I have thin hair and not a lot of it. My hair is just below my shoulders, how much coconut oil do I use and is there any certain brand you recommend? Do you get the oil that is in solid or liquid form? I look forward to any useful additional tips you are able to provide.
Hi Jodie. Glad to hear you're going to try some of our hair-growth tips! I would start with 1 heaped tablespoon of coconut oil and go from there - you want to make sure your hair is fully saturated. Brand-wise, organic, unrefined is best. Coconut oil is only available in solid form - it's solid at room temperature. To liquify it, simply massage in your hands before applying to hair. I hope this helps :)
Do I wash the coconut oil out or do I rinse it out?
Hi Janessa, You'll need to wash it out :) Possibly twice with lots of shampoo.
Having extremely long hair has been my passion since I was 14. I used to think that it was pretty tough. With this article, wikihow articles, and pinterest, I'm able to get my hair to go below the waistline and almost to my hips. I'm getting closer to classic length without realizing it. 6-8 inches to my goal length, baby (15-20 cm)! I eat more than enough almonds almost every day. More than any other nut I've eaten. Nobody in my family has hair as long as mine. The longest my female friends and family can go is down to their armpits. My sister had waist length hair and now it stayed at armpit length since last summer (June 2017). Most people don't start doing treatments to their hair till later in life. It really was a good thing I started paying attention and doing all of the easy steps. Just now as I was doing the inversion method, I apply a really small amount of Argan oil (1 pump to avoid greasiness) and massage it in. It's like a natural serum without the harsh chemicals including alcohol.
Hi Alice. WOW! We can't believe how long your hair is - you sound almost like Rapunzel. The inversion method really is amazing, if you're prepared to put the effort in - and it sounds like you are. Great stuff, keep up the good work :)
Hi, I cut my hair REALLY short almost two years ago and I'm desperate for it to grow back. My goal is to have hair that passes my hips. Right now it's at my mid/lower back and really is in that awkward stage of short/long. How do I make it grow to my hips by summer?
Hi Katie. Firstly, now you've got some length back, it's imperative that you keep your hair in good condition. This means, regular cuts, and nourishing hair treatments (coconut oil, natural masks etc). I'd also recommend brushing your hair regularly, as this stimulates hair follicles, and, furthering this, the inversion method. Good luck in your quest. :)
is it fine to use the coconut oil and lee stafford treatment both at the same time or within the same weekly period?
Hi Alyx, In the same week is preferred. I hope that helps :)
Wow! It really works! My hair has grown in about 2 weeks!! Amazing! Thanks so much!
Hey, I've cut from my hair from really long to short and i don't like it so I want it to grow back quickly. I can only do 3 maybe 4 of the steps in the article, will my hair still grow as quickly?
Hi Izzy, The inversion method is the most important step for hair growth. I'd also strongly advise using coconut oil to keep hair healthy and prevent it from splitting. Good luck! Steph
What a clearly straightforward and informative article! Well written! Thank you for the information ♡
just started growing out my Pixie, I've also started using Alpecin, I'm reaching for the nuts now! Thanks for the tips xx
It does been really nice, thanks you very much.
How do I tell if I am losing hair. My hair used to be really curly and beautiful and really thick . Now just starting a few months ago i have noticed a huge difference in my hair. It is not as curly it is more wavy and I find it really thin. Like my hair is really long i just feel like i do not have that much of it . As in many strands of it. Although people say i have a on of hair. I do not want to end up having to get a wig. What should I do? How can I make my hair thicker? Please help me and answer ASAP I am getting really concerned. It is making me feel very insecure about myself .
Hi Gabrielle, Sorry to hear you're insecure about your hair. To find out if you're losing hair, you need to go to the doctors or see a specialist. They will look at your scalp for any evidence of this, including bald patches. Most of the time, hair gets thinner towards the ends as it splits. Regular cuts along with hair masks should help with this. I hope this helps :)
pls o which oil are you using pls what is the name of the oil i need the oil
Hi Sonia. We use coconut oil :) I hope that helps.
Does this also work for natural african hair
Hi there, We can't speak from experience, but I'd say it's definitely worth a go - it's done wonders for our team's hair, and we all have different types! I hope that helps :)
About the inversion method, why can you only do it for a week? I am looking to grow my hair out and am wondering if you can do it for several weeks for more length. Also, does this method generally seem to work with growing brand new hairs, or just current hairs?
Hi Libby, You should take a break from the inversion method otherwise your scalp will get used to the stimulation and results won't be as drastic. I hope this helps :)
Hello, After using the coconut oil in your hair and sleeping with it over night, should you wash it out with shampoo or just let the water run over it? Thank you :) Nicole
Hi Nicole. It's best to wash it out otherwise it will be extremely greasy and end up on your clothes! I hope this helps :)
Hi there! Do I put the oil directly on my scalp and massage or just in the strands? Would it hurt to wash it out right away or would that interfere with the inversion method?
Hi Clare, You need to massage the oil into the roots of your hair to reap the full effects. It's best to leave the oil on for a while in order to allow it to penetrate your hair follicles properly. I hope this helps :)
Very interesting read, some good points I'd never considered here. Going to try some of this out.
thanks for sharing!
I got my hair cut into a pixi cut last SUMMER! now only may do i have a half bob. GIVE ME HELp cause i cant buy any of these things and i desperatly need help. Can you estimate how long (in months ) itll take to get my hair to my shoulders?

I'm stunned by some of the folks here expecting to see a miracle performed or to suddenly in a day or two expect to have long, healthy hair when you didn't have it yesterday. You guys have unrealistic expectations from the advice and tips given in this article. This lady is simply offering some tips & advice. Not guaranteed to help everyone as everyone is different. Be a little more realistic about this folks. Thanks for the useful tips & information and I can't help but laugh at some of these comments!!
Inspite of trimming about 2-3 inches..I got split ends again which retards my hair growth. There is too much hair fall.
Hi Vadana, Do you use heat on your hair? (Straighteners etc) Or dye it? These things are likely to lead to damage and split ends, especially if your hair is naturally weak. Another thing you could try is altering your diet. Including more nutrient-rich foods will help with hair growth.
Thank you anushka really appreciate this for providing very usefully information
Hi! I need help! Graduation is in 3 weeks and I need to grow out my hair, does it work on Europeans?
will it actually grow an inch a week?
Hi Jas. If you follow the steps in the article you will be amazed at how fast your hair can grow!
eh.. I don't believe any of these, but Ill try them
Hi! I have rather dry curls, and have previously absolutely soaked my hair in oil with no negative results. Do you think it would be safe to do an oil treatment twice a week with my hair, if I use a lighter oil??
Hi Kiki. Have you tried using other masks? There are many other natural products that can nourish hair, including blended oats and avocado to name a few :)
Can I use Palm oil as an alternative for the Coconut Oil?
Hi Jaja, We recommend coconut oil if possible.
My hair is thick and shoulder length but Frizzes out so bad but the growth is really slow any tips I miss my long hair (also its wavy/curly)
Hi Jean, Try the inversion method to encourage hair growth.
Thanks for sharing this amazing post. i have also a same blog but i have get lots of ideas and knowledge form your post. keep it up. Again thanks for sharing.
Hi ashuka,my hair African hair and I'm suffering from breakage every time I shower the ends break away and some strand fall out i want ma hair to grow verylong in a month can anyone tip me off on this
To promote healthy hair growth and prevent breakage, be gentle when washing and detangling your hair, avoid heat styling tools, deep condition once a week, eat a balanced diet, and seek professional advice if needed.
I did this for one week and not only did my hair grow about 1/2 an inch it looks shinier and healthier. I also took vitamin c capsules cause I didn't feel like eating spinach and broccoli everyday.
Hi Sachini, Great to hear your had a great success with our tips! :)
Hi Anushka, Firstly, thank you for sharing your informative post! I like to use argan oil since it does not leave my thin hair greasy. Still, your post convinced me that I should also try coconut oil. I might mix them both and see how it goes. Thank you for the good read!
Thanks!!! Its growing MUCH faster.
Hey, so I got my hair cut short I thought it was a good idea at the time but I regret it now last summer my hair grew 2 inches without any tricks or techniques but I do take a lot of protein so should I follow these methods or let my hair grow naturally P.S. I am a school student and I don't want my hair to be too short when I go back
Hi Haley! Hope you're well. There's no harm done in trying these methods and seeing how you get on. It sounds like you have amazing hair growing powers already so you can't lose!
Please could you advise how often should oily hair be washed. My hair is very oily in the roots and dry at the ends. I have tried everything. Shampoos and conditioners for oily roots and dry ends. I have changed so many shampoos over the years and nothing seemed to help. Shampoos for oily hair made it even worse. At the moment my hair long but is thin and flat. Could you give any tips on how to manage better my greasy hair . Also should I use the coconut oil when I massage my head. I wash my hair 3 times a week as I have been told that the more often I wash it, the oilier it gets. Pls advise!
Hi Radi. We've heard that the best way to get rid of oily hair is to go much longer without washing it - up to a month or more! That'll probably be difficult for you if your hair is really oily though. It's hard to start with, but lots of people say that once you get past the first couple of months, the results are amazing and you only have to wash your hair with water! As someone who washes my hair every day (a very bad habit - I know!), I'm not sure I could manage to go that long! I would avoid applying any oils anywhere near your scalp if you are looking to reduce oiliness.
Hi, my hair is currently sitting on my shoulders. If I do the inversion method can it help my hair grow. Im looking for it to grow past my shoulders.
Yes Olisha, it will help your hair to grow. We'd love to hear how you get on.
Coconut oil is the BEST product for your hair. I alternated between it and a mayonnaise mask on my hair, and didn't have any split ends after a year of bleaching my hair. Coconut, Grapeseed and Olive oil are my ultimate favorites and can be used on skin and hair. Often times when I put it on my hair, I will rub the excess on my face and neck (Coconut and Grapeseed are great because they're not very thick). I am beginning to experiment with more foods. It's fun and completely natural... You can't beat that!
We love it too, Dee! Thanks for sharing.
I just finnish reading it and I don't know if it works with my hair, dyed hair, light brown. And my hair is pixie cut. My hair was long down to my shoulders. And then I started to make a change, too much change I would say. I miss my hair badly. But I started growing it out, although it's very slow. I need help
Hi Princess, these methods should work no matter your hair type! Give them a go and let us know how you get on?
Plan to try these tonight tomorrow is last day of school hopefully big improvement for next year! Thank you! Will comment on results already measured my hair!
Hi Elephantorious, So glad to hear you found the blog post useful - I can't wait to see the results!
thank you very much!
Im 40 and starting to lost hair over my front right side hairline, within the last 4 months. I think its due to stress. My grandfather on moms side had a full head of hair. My older brother shows no signs of losing hair either, and he smokes, and my diet is better than his..so im going with stress. Will these methods help or is it gone, most likely? I dont see any follicles where its receded Thanks
Hi Chirs! I actually went through a similar thing a couple of years ago. I lost hair in a couple of patches due to stress. Luckily it grew back after a few months without me doing much. It's worth giving some of these a go! Fingers crossed yours will do the same.
Will a octopus head masarger work instead of a wire head masarger
Hi Tyler, I usually use my hands, so I imagine anything that stimulates the scalp will work. Good luck!
Great article, i just wanted to add that for me, my hair never looked better (thickerm longer, shinier) as when I was pregnant and taking prenatal vitamins with iron!
I prefer applying mayo to the scalp, putting a bag over my hair, and leaving it overnight. It makes your hair fuller, and smoother. I tried coconut oil, but it don’t wash out very good, I had to repeat washing it like 10 times...
Hi Marie. This sounds really interesting! I imagine it's the egg in mayo that provide benefits to the hair - they're full of protein and vitamins.
When you say olive oil works is it normal olive oil for cooking? My dad has 2 types too. I'm too embarrassed to ask for special oils. '^^ will cooking olive oil work okay?
Hi Sally, Cooking olive oil is fine! There is Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Olive Oil - both of which are fine :)
Hi. School is starting in September and last year I cut my hair so this year I want to go with longer hair. I heard that braiding your hair also helps have you tried that? Does it work?
Hi Faith, Unfortunately, this isn't something we have any experience with! The only reasons I can think of as to why braiding may help is that it will mean you're not using heat/backcombing your hair which can lead to damage and splitting. Additionally, if your braids are tight, they may stimulate the scalp and therefore hair follicles. Let us know how you get on :)
Do you just apply the coconut oil to the scalp or to all your hair?
Hi Dee, Initially to the scalp, then work it through the rest of your hair.
can i use almond oil instead of coconut oil?
Hi there, We recommend coconut oil, but almond oil also contains beneficial nutrients so will also be able to nourish your hair. I hope this helps.
Thank you so much for your article! I recently had a haircut but 1-the cut is terrible and 2- it's WAY too short, especially for my curly hair. Result : not much I can do about it right now except hiding them in a bun and waiting for them to grow. I found your article really interesting and I'll definitely be trying a few things on your list. I just bought the Lee Stafford treatment for hair growth and I was wondering how you use it with the inversion method? Should I wet my hair first and wash them after the massage? Should I leave the treatment a while in my hair? Thanks! :)
Hi Jennifer! Sorry to hear about your bad experience with your latest haircut. We're really glad you found the article useful. We'd suggest shampooing your hair first and squeezing out as much of the water as you can so that your hair is damp but not dripping wet. You can then apply the Lee Stafford treatment from root to tip and use the inversion method to massage it into your scalp. You can leave the product on your hair for 5 minutes to let it do it's magic (please don't stay inverted for that long though!) and then rinse off the product and finish your hair washing routine. Let us know how you get on!
Do you know if hard boiled eggs are a high source of biotin as well?
Hello Libby! Yes, hard-boiled eggs are a great source of biotin. Any type of cooked egg, especially the yolk, will be really good for helping your hair grow.
Hello Anushka, I liked your article, It is very informative. I saw people are facing this problem and I hope your tips toward this problem will works. A bunch of people asked for help with hair growth problem but I wasn't able to help them but maybe now I can give them this solution.
That's great news, Maria!
Hey I had gotten a pixie cut a few months ago how long do you think it'll take to grow my hair to shoulder length
Hi Amber! It will depend on a few factors like your hair care routine and how often you get it trimmed. Trimming can help hair grow back quicker so don't shy away from the scissors even if you want more length. It could take as little as 10 months or up to 2 years to get it back to shoulder length. I had a fringe cut a while back and even after a few months of growing it out, I can't quite tuck it behind my ears yet. We suggest trying a bunch of different hair accessories to keep your growing hair out of your face.
Hello Anushka. The Blog Post was one of the simplest and a well-structured one. I will surely share this with my loved ones and let them know one of the top hair growth tips. Thanks a Lot.
Hello Aasif! Thanks for the great feedback.
Hi. Unfortunately, at the parlour while doing shampoo, I lost a lot of hair. My hair were very thick and long. But now... I just can't explain. I am very angry at the workers. I can't relax. I will do try the inversion method.
Hi! Sorry to hear that. Please let us know how it goes.
Hi I love your article and 6/8 I can do ???? About 9 months ago I cut about 12 inches of hair for wigs for cancer but now I really miss my long hair. I'm going to have my long hair back for school. Yay!!! ????????????
Fingers crossed, Angelia! That's great to hear that you were able to donate your hair for such an amazing cause.
Nice and a very detail write up. Yes, as mention head massage and food intake is very important
Thank you, Yasmeen!
Hello, I was just wondering if there are any other ways to properly grow your hair. My hair is at shoulder length, and blonde and also moist. However, it grows VERY, VERY slow. I want it to grow down below breast length before school starts. (it starts September 5) o have tried all methods, using correct instructions, but none work. Do you have any other methods? If so, thank You.
Hi Stephanie! Can I ask you to list all the methods that you have tried? Thanks.
my hands hurt after massaging my head but who cares
Hi Maddie! Fingers crossed all that massaging will pay off.
This maybe a stupid question.....is laying on your bed an hanging your head over the side inversion? ....as good as hanging your head forward...
Hi Tannis! Yes, that would do the trick!
Thanks for these tips. These Foods makes the hair grow faster Almonds, Peanuts, Pecans and Walnuts Eggs (the yolk has one of the highest concentrations of Biotin), Milk and Cheese, Pork and Cooked Liver, Salmon and Sardines, Avocado, Cauliflower. Also cut down excessive heating of the hair.
Thanks for your comment, Lilian!
I’m going to attempt the inversion method— mainly because I don’t have access to the others. Thanks for the tips.
Be very careful with vitamins especially vitamin A. More is not always better. I adopted a high Vitamin A diet from eggs, spinach, carrots and kale and had high hair loss. High Vitamin A levels are detrimental to hair.
Everything in moderation, Mans! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks a lot for the wonderful instruction about the hair growth, am so glad that my hair has really grown long
We're pleased to hear it's worked for you!
My bf recently got bald and he is not happy eirh it hewant to grow 2 inches of hair in a month is it possible with inversion method??
Hi Prerna, it'll depend on the reason he has gone bald as sometimes this is irreversible. Are you able to share this with us?
Wow this really works!! I’m impressed!!????????????????????
We're so pleased to hear that you had good results, Olivia!
750th comment (; I sure hope these methods work cause I got an absolutely TERRIBLE hair cut and I need to grow out my hair before I can get humiliated to insanity... ):
Congrats on being 750! We're sure they will!
i found this very helpfdul. cant wait to start trying them! Thanks, Anuskha.
We're glad you enjoyed!
my hair is too week and stoped growing and even the colour is almost going to change i need ur help u guys .i may not have all the oils u mentioned above bz iam in ethiopia
Hi Yusuf. What is your current hair care routine?
If you used Minoxidil 4x a day, Soak it and massage it in for 3min make sure it stays moist while massaging then let air dry. If you did this you will see results within 3 months, You need biotin and other vitamins and minerals as well, wheatgrass is very good. The trick is in the massaging to increase blood flow. I also take finestride for hair its a 6 prong assault on the old hair raid. I had a big baldspot that for 20 yrs got worse and worse. I am 58 and am now seeing hair growing in areas I haven't seen since my twenty's. You can see the pores opening back up and hundreds of sprouts. and growing thick and long layer by layer. I used minoxidil for the past 12 years and it was good for keeping what I had left. But I stepped it up last year with the 4x Minoxidil and the long thorough massage and vitamins and Fin. Actually I had alot coming in before I started the Fin, I just wanted to boost it. If you did this daily you would have to see results
I've read in several other places that air drying is only helpful if your hair dries quickly. Wet hair is more prone to swell and break, so depending on how thick your hair is and how long it retains moisture, you may be better off air/towel drying part of the way, and then using a low heat dryer to speed the process.
Hi Marissa! That's true - it varies with hair type. Thanks for sharing.
I'm a 57 year old lady, Rebecca is my name. In 2010 my husband and I were in a major fire in our apartment. My hair at this time was long and beautiful, to the middle of my back, nearly waist length. Because of the fire my hair was severely singed and scorched. As a result I had to get my hair cut short, shoulder length. Then due to chemical damage during the fire I ended up losing some of my hair. It grew back but I just can't seem to get it to grow like it was before. Some people are so cruel making fun of me for being bald in some spots. It was so upsetting at the time. How can I get my hair back to where it was before?
Hi Rebecca! I'm really sorry to hear about your experience. That must have been awful for you to go through. Getting your hair back would certainly help you feel more normal again. May I ask which methods you have tried to grow your hair back so far?
thank you so much but what about aloe vera and onion juice?
Hi Beatrice! We'll have to look into this one. Thanks for reminding us.
Hi. I'm 34 years old now. I have been cutting my hair off with a razor blade because it just wont grow back in the front, the rest of my head is fine it's just my left & right side that always have patches hair just will not grow there. What can I do ... hair has not been growing here for years now. Please advise.....
Hi Marco, have you tried any of the tips in this article?
I had a bad haircut and im trying to grow it 5 inches at least in one day before school so nobody judges me but i dont know how and what will help?
Hi Liz! Have you tried the tips in our article?
I tried wetting my hair with cold water and i cant braid it cause my hair is too short and i dont know what else to do.Do you have any other things i could do so it could grow overnight?
My hair is short. Well I have bangs and they are ugly. I tried everything even tuging on my hair and pulling but not my hair all the way out. PLEASE help me. It does not talk about bangs in there. Hope you see this. Thank you.
I have tried getting my hair wet with cold water and Eating some nuts.Do you have something else that i could do? Its because I cant do most of them.
Hi Liz! Try massaging your scalp every day to stimulate the blood flow. This should help it to grow. We can't promise you'll see a change overnight, but within weeks there should be a difference.
This are the best options to grow hair long. I tried this and got short hair to longer hair in (3) months so try it too 👍👩
We're so pleased to hear that, Zama!
I believe patience is key, once these things are done the growth will begin as long as we refrain from damaging styles but we must give our hair at least 6months to a year to really see mentionable results. I had to cut more of my ends that i anticipated so tge splitting could stop. Im wrapping my hair at night (silkwrap), im conditioning, and moisturizing and my main go to product is pure coconut and/olive oil. I cannot wait to try the inversion trick. Thanks for that
Sounds like you're headed for some great results. Keep it up, Latasha!
Hi anushka 7 years ago I cut my long hair really short and ever since then it hasnt past my a Upper shoulder length.. Ive tryed all kinds of methods and it seem like they dont work.. Ive heard that the rice water works but honestly havent tryed it .i was wondering which one would u recomend me to do to grow my hair back again i honestly miss having my hair long please help
Hi Elizabeth! We'd suggest trying the rice water method with the inversion method. Good luck!
which methods above can i use to grow long hair?
All of the above! Hope you see some results, Emily.
Hi-i tried rice water and it isn't working.is it safe to try different methods in one month?
Hi there! What method are you thinking of trying?
Natural way for fast hair growth??
Hi there, Rahul! What have you tried so far?
I need help ladies!!! I recently shaved my hair and I feel like it hasn't grown since then I need an easy observation.
Hi Paris! How long has it been since you had it shaved?
Hello, I want to tips to know which method is better to make my bangs grow faster. I have been 3 months without cutting them but they are still just over my eyes. I want it to make until my hair size (which is a Bob cut I think? It’s short, above the shoulders but not over the jawline). I tired of having my bangs over my eyes, so i want it to grow really fast in 2 or 3 months to catch up my hair. Which method do you recommend for this?
Hi there, Ana! I feel for you. I had a fringe (bangs) cut a few months back and it does take a lot of patience to get it back to how it was before. I'd definitely recommend the inversion method suggested in this article. The results really are amazing! In the meantime, to get the bangs out of your face, I'd suggest wearing headbands, hair wraps, bandanas, and clips. You can also style it by slightly curling the ends with a straightener and parting down the centre. This should frame your face nicely until it grows out.
Hey Joanne thanks for the tips I'm gonna try this really want to get my hair long but don't wanna wait a year lol.thanks
Hope it works for you, Tim!
Hi, so I have yet to try any of these methods but I have heard nothing but amazing results with coconut oil and also Mane and Tail products! I can’t wait to try these, thankyou so much for being so helpful and dedicated! However, as for home remedies, is there a replacement for olive/coconut oil that I could use for the egg and honey mixtures? My hair used to be very long and wavy and thick, and now it is dry and brittle with a flaky scalp and also seems to have stopped growing and the split ends never go away despite regular trims.): I want my hair back sooo badly!
Hi there, Shayla! Thank you for your lovely comments. I have tried Mane and Tail and it worked very well. May I ask why you need a replacement for olive/coconut oil? This will help me to suggest something appropriate.
I plan to use coconut oil/olive oil soon, but aloe Vera, honey, and eggs are the only of these ingredients that I have laying around the house at the moment.😕
Hi Shayla, You can make a hair mask using banana, egg and avocado if you don't have any oils to hand. Puree the banana in a blender and add 1 tbsp of raw organic honey. Add an egg or 1/2 an avocado. Blend and then apply the mixture to your hair. Leave to sit for 20 minutes and then rinse. Wash your hair as normal afterward to remove any leftover mask.

Hi there! We're so glad to hear that it worked for you. You certainly can follow this up with a rice water treatment.
My hair got really short in the middle that’s where it started now it’s all over I feel like everyday my hair is getting shorter and shorter.
Hi Marrachea. What have you tried so far?
Hey my health is not so good but I’m barely getting to take care of my self but my hair is thin thin and I don’t have a lot most of it falls I stress a lil I try not to but I don’t know how what to do or use exactly for it to grow
Hi Sasha! Stress will lead to hair loss - something I've experienced myself in the past. It can be good to increase Iron in your diet through multivitamin tablets, red meat, broccoli, etc. Check with your GP first, because you might have specific dietary needs. You could also try mindfulness or seek out counseling to help with stress management.
Hi! I relax my hair every 3 months. Of recent, my long hair started breaking at the tips and my hair is now short. Are the above tips also for relaxed hairs or just for natural/virgin hairs?
Hi Tosin! These tips will work for relaxed hair too.
My hair is too short and I am an African needing it to grow very fast because I have barbing the hair for a while
Hi Esther! What have you tried so far?
My hair is a pixie cut and I really want my long hair back cause I miss it so much! Also what kind of method would you prefer if I want my hair to grow really fast? I have soft silky hair.
Hi Kimberly! The inversion method would be great for you.
The hairdresser and doctor gave me some suggestions at home to make this hair grow thick. You can try it. The record of a month I grew more than 5 cm
Hi there! What did you try?
My front hair is cutting please what can I do
Hi Akanle! I'm not sure what you mean?
thank you i like this wonderful tip
Yikes! NEVER use Vaseline on your hair. It's a nightmare to get out -- and shampoo alone certainly won't do it.
Hi Alicia! It might be tricky to get out if you use a lot, but the benefits far outway this.
hey i really want my hair to grow so badly. can i use all home remedy at once? will it damage my hair if i use more than one remedy at once?
Hi Claudia! Which methods did you want to try?

Hi Khloud! Have you tried any of our methods?
I cut my hair really short and I hate it!!!!!!!😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫But I don’t know what method to try. I already tried the invertion method. Plz help!!!!!
Hi Peyton! Have you tried using rice water?
Does you hair have to be wet with the inversion method
Hi Allayna! No, it doesn't have to be wet.
I can only get my hair 59% dry, how can I guarantee to get it 60%? Are there any special techniques? Many thanks.
Hi Peter! I've not got a special technique for making sure your hair is exactly 60% dry, but shaving it all off is a guaranteed way to get it to 100%!
My mom decided to rebond my hair and now im regreting it because i grew my natural for 16 months before and now i have to start from the cery bottom its really depressing but i still have to accept the fact that it really have to take time, my hair is a kind of wavy and i want it to grow it back like it used before i am trying the inversion method these days and i hope it will benefit my hair for faster process
We wish you luck, Eula!
Hi can I massage my hair for 4 days instead of 7 during the inversion method. Will it grow fast? If not please tell me another method. Moreover, will my hair grow if I applied olive oil with massaging and after few hours I washed my hair? Please answer.
Hi there! The results will vary from person to person, so I can't guarantee that it'll grow fast. I would stick to the method for best results.
the hair dressers cut my hair rly short and ugly into like a lob and I dunno wot to do
Hi Ella! Have you tried any of our methods?
Hi dear, I use to apply coconut oil mix with castrol oil. My hairs were so thick earlier, now it has become 1/4 and loss of hair in front feel bald patch like. Can you please help me out to grow hair faster. While applying oil i get hand full of hair, when i take head bath i see hair fall, when i comb, comb full hair. I am worried a lot, can u plz help me...
Hi Shobha! It sounds like you might be putting your hair through a little bit too much strain. Try not to run your hands or combs through it as often, as this could be causing more hair fallout. Have you tried any of these methods to promote hair growth too?
Hi dear! Yes i comb very smoothly twice a day with separate comb, care a lot but not working. I've not tried any other methods pls suggest which method is good. I went to Doctor and explained, prescribed Morr F 5% solution to apply twice a day with Vit tablet a day. 1 month over but still i see same hair fall, i am worried to continue. I am using still as Doctor said me to meet him after 3 Months. What do you suggest?? please guide me....
Hi Shobha! I'd give the inversion method a try. It will stimulate your scalp and promote hair growth.
Hi dear! Thanks for your valuable feedback i'll try & get back. I want to know in which part of country are you if you dont mind plz..I am an Indian. Thanks for the great time...
We're in the UK. Thanks for getting in touch.
Hi all, I was so stupid to recently get a haircut, now I regret it :( The worst part is that 10 years ago I got a long bob cut which was above the shoulders and it took about 5-6 YEARS for it to grow just around my breasts -- so I am really scared that it will take years again :( I only want it to grow 2-3 inches more, but having in mind the history I am terrified I will have to wait years again. I recently started to hear about the inversion method so I am going to try it, I also use coconut oil sometimes too and I got a mask for hair growth ( years ago I used Lee Stafford but now I got a new brand, even though I think Stafford did good job so I might get it too). I am also vegan and I am afraid I might be missing some proteins so I will try to eat more nuts and avocado and spinach...Wish me luck!
Good luck, Ella!
Ok so I understood quite a long time ago that our hair grows from within. It doesn’t matter how many eggs you crack, the best result for growing long hair is a Supplement called Biotin. Hair loves biotin! Pair that with Vitamin B-Complex and you’re well on your way!! My hair grew down to my butt when I began using these supplements. I was told that hair grows from within so stop wasting time on pomades and products that don’t work.
That's exactly why we suggest eating biotin-rich foods! Caring for your hair on the outside can also present breakage, resulting in longer hair.
Hi I used 2 have relaxed hair but it changed my hair colour causing it 2 thinning so I cut my hair 5 months ago n I want it 2 grow back and it has started growing back 3 month ago but it has only reached 1n half inches I tried the inversion method for 10 days with no difference but it is natural now n thicker when it was relaxed it only grows 1inch in a yr so I used inversion method n it grew 1 inch in 4 days.pls what can I do 2 speed d growth.
Hi Gemma! If it's growing 1 inch in 4 days, compared to 1 inch in a year, it sounds like the inversion method is working well for you!
hi, i just cut my bangs and I want it to grow out fast! what is your favorit tips
Hi Martine! Give the rice water method a try and you should see dramatic hair growth. When I was growing out my own fringe, I found the best thing for it was fabric hair bands. I could tie the fabric in place and push my fringe in underneath. It looks pretty cute, too!
I have just shaved my head and have course curly hair which method do you recommend for fastest hair growth
Hi Sharon! The most effective methods are the inversion and the rice water method.
Thank you have got Lee Stafford treatment and am using it with inversion method will let you no how I get on
Good luck, Sharon!
I like it it helpy hair grow faster if you're new and you are afraid try it you never know I was scared until I try it and my hair is now healthy and long
That's great to hear, Divanie!
Hey, i just got a bad haircut and its really short, but i need it to grow atleast four inches in 2 weeks before high school starts. I just needed to confirm if the inversion method really give you an inch in just a week
Hi there! As long as you follow the instructions, it should work. Of course, everyone is different, so it might vary from person to person.
k thnks, imma see how it goes..
MY HAIR IS CURLY..I DID SMOOTHING THRICE AND NOW ITS FALLING AND BECAME VERY THICK...AND FRONT HAIR IS TOO FRIZZY AND WEAVY..WAHT TO DO..
Hi there! What have you tried so far?
Hi my hair is just above shoulder length and I really need to grow it until graduation if I do the inversion with coconut or olive oil how much do you think it will grow in about 8 months thanks!
Hi Layla! That sounds like a good plan. The results will vary from person to person, so it's difficult for me to give you a prediction.
Hi am South Indian am having lots of split ends and also dry hair. I need to grow my hair longer and stronger please tell me which one is the best in article. please do tel me
Hi Vanitha! What have you tried so far? Any of the methods listed in this article should be beneficial for you, just depending on personal preference and what supplies you have available to you.
I have tried the rice water and it actually works . Thanks a lot. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ . The rice water is also nutritious and helped my scalp a lot.
That's so great to hear, Tina! Thanks for sharing.

Hi Joyce! What have you tried?
Hey, ma'am i am facing the huge trouble that my hair are long but in the thin shape and also are brown color, they have no strength, i usually take proteins as much as possible nevertheless my hair are thin and in brown color, i had shaved my head for 3 months but when they was under 2 inch they would dark black and with shining but now they are unbright, dim on account of thicknesses they are falling. Kindly tell me solution.
Hi there! What have you tried so far?
When is it too late to stop using heat tools on your hair? I have been using it for a year now and i want to stop. Is it too late to stop?
Hi Athmiha! It's never too late to stop.
Hi Wonder if you could advise me on natural hair dye with herbs. I have never dyed my hair before and am starting to go a bit grey now. Have looked into dyeing my hair with herbs but found it all a bit confusing, and I do not want to use proper hair dye. My natural colour was dark blonde with auburn in it (very similar to sarah duchess of york). I would appreciate any help you can give me on this. Thank you Lorraine
Hi Lorraine! Have you heard of henna hair dye? This could be a great alternative for you.
I have really curly hair and it gets really frizzy! I don’t want to use any gel on my hair. Is there any other way to maintain my curls?
