Have you invested in a magnetic knife rack yet? You can pick one up from IKEA for under £15 - a bargain considering how versatile they are!
We just love magnetic knife racks here at Expert Home Tips. In fact, we love them so much that we've decided to celebrate their many uses in a brand new article.
Discover some of our favourite magnetic knife rack ideas below - we guarantee you'll want to try at least one or two of them!
1. DIY tool storage
Are you running out of space in that clunky toolbox of yours? There's no need to overfill it - what you need is a new system.
Downgrade your toolbox into something more manageable, and create a storage system for those DIY tools you use less often using magnetic knife racks.
As most tools are made of metal, this is a practical (and cheap!) solution. Pop a few up - one for pliers, one for paintbrushes, one for spanners etc. You could even go the extra mile and buy some small, metal tins to keep screws and hooks in.
Your garage will never have looked so organised!
2. Use a magnetic knife rack to tidy your desk
Paperclips, pins, rulers - if your desk is looking messier than your Excel spreadsheet, it's time to act!
Forget trying to find a quick fix by stuffing them into your drawer - we all know how that turns out - and instead, invest in an IKEA magnetic knife rack.
Attach one to the wall by your desk, on the inside of your drawer, or ever on the desk leg, and you'll be able to store all sorts of metal objects on it.
Pens, scissors, even a stapler - who knew office organisation could be this simple?

3. Make a DIY noticeboard
Not got a lot of space for a big noticeboard?
No problem!
A magnetic knife rack and some magnets are all you need to create a compact and stylish noticeboard that will fit almost anywhere.
You could screw one up in the kitchen, study, or even in your room. It's perfect for holding things like to-do lists, meal plans, recipes or even that guy's number from last weekend - the options are endless!
4. DIY spice rack
Magnetic knife racks were initially designed to be used in the kitchen. We're returning to their roots with this idea - using a magnetic knife rack to create DIY spice jar storage.
Spice jars can take up so much space - a magnetic knife rack will enable you to reduce the room they occupy, by attaching them to the bottom of shelves, or even on walls.
TOP TIP: Not only is this a practical solution, but it can look super stylish too. Why not make your own labels whilst you're at it? You can then reuse the jars time and time again, and instead buy refill spices, which will save you loads of money.

5. Magnetic knife rack key holder
Where have those keys got to now? If you're the forgetful type, or perhaps just have an extremely busy life, a key rack will make things much easier for you.
Screw one up near the coat rack, in the downstairs toilet, or on the inside of a drawer, and get into the habit of popping your keys on it everytime you come home.
TOP TIP: You could also keep spare keys, garage keys, and even the dogs lead on it to get even more organised!
6. Cosmetic tool organisation
Tweezers, nail clippers, bobby pins - where do you keep yours? There are many options, but one of our favourites is on a magnetic knife rack.
They look sleek and modern screwed up above the sink, or, if you want to keep them hidden, on the inside of a cabinet door.
7. Kids room organisation
Enthusiastic tidying up from kids is something all parents dream of. If you want to encourage your little ones to tidy up their own toys, you need to make it fun.
Here's where a magnetic knife rack could come in handy. Screw some up on the walls, and your kids will love arranging their miniature cars and metal figurines on them.
They'll have fun, and the floor will be spotless - almost. We'd consider that a win-win!
