Storage Cheats: 10 Ways To Store Your Pan Lids

Pan lids: can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em! Storing pans is the easy part, you just stack them inside each other - but pan lids are a different story. You either end up losing them at the back of the cupboard, or they get in the way while you're hunting for something to cook your tea in.

Never fear, here at Expert Home Tips we have 10 great ways for you to store those pesky pan lids.

1. On hooks

Make use of dead space.

Use command hooks to hold pan lids in place on the back of kitchen cupboard doors. This space is often left unused, but it's perfect for storing slim items.

2. In a magazine rack

Magazine racks aren't just for your favourite glossy editions. Use one to store all of your pan lids on the wall.

3. In an old washing up bowl

Make sure of a washing up bowl as a handy place to store your lids. For easy access, stack them up on their side. If you need to grab one, you can pull out the bowl and select easily instead of rummaging through your cupboards.

4. Tension rod in your drawer

Tension rods are handy for hanging shower curtains, but you can also use them in drawers to hold things in place - a bit like a drawer divider. Try it for yourself!

5. Using towel rods

Surprisingly sturdy!

Bathroom towel rods can be doubled up as pan lid holders. Simply fix to the wall in your kitchen.

6. In a shallow drawer

Does your kitchen have mysteriously slim drawers? They're perfect for storing pan lids, as well as cutlery and utensils.

7. On hooks underneath cabinets

Attach some hooks to the bottom of your kitchen cabinets and use them to hang your pan lids. They'll be in easy reach every time you cook.

8. In an old CD rack

Very few of us use CDs anymore, and even less use CD racks. Don't take them to the skip - use it to store your lids instead.

9. Hanging off a peg board

For a kitchen that looks like it's come straight from an IKEA magazine, install a peg board on one wall. Use it to store all of your kitchen essentials, including pan lids.

10. In an old dish rack

Handy!

Don't throw out that old dish rack, use it to store all of your pan lids! You can even use the flat part to store other miscellaneous items.

I have never found a problem storing pan lids as I just put the lids upside down on the matching pans and store on top of each other in the cupboard. So I can get at least four sets of three in my cupboard and can reach pan sets/stacks from behind by simply lifting out the set at the front. No tools or accessories required.

Hi there! That's another great way to store pan lids. If you don't have much cupboard space, it can be helpful to stack the pans inside each other (a bit like Russian dolls) and then store the lids separately with one of these methods.
