1. Get rid of tea stains on mugs
It's endless cups of tea that help me get through the working day, so I'm no stranger to tough tea stains.
They soon build up, and they can be surprisingly stubborn to remove. You'll be pleased to hear there's an easy way to remove tea stains, that doesn't involve even a second of scrubbing - soda water!
Pour into stained mugs, leave for at least half an hour, then wipe clean - easy.
2. Uses for soda water in baking
Are your pancakes falling flat? An easy way to make the perfect, fluffy pancakes is to substitute some milk for soda water.
The carbonation lifts and lightens the batter so they come out much larger than with a standard mix.

Bird poo, squished bugs and other debris can be surprisingly difficult to lift off of window screens.

Use soda water to remove tough marks on your window screen. Splash it on over, leave to sit, then wipe off with a sponge - that's the easiest car wash I've ever done!

Soda water isn't just any old water. Not only is it carbonated to give it the fizziness we so love, but minerals are also added. These can include sodium chloride, potassium sulphate and disodium phosphate.
These additions supply your plants with more nourishment than standard water. If your soda water starts to go flat, don't throw it out, use it to water your garden instead.

Not only is soda water extremely cheap and something most of us have at home, but it's really effective at lifting stains.

What do you turn to when your stomach is sore? Hot water bottles always seem to help me, but now it's getting warmer it's not a very practical solution.
Soda water can be a great remedy for tummy aches. This is thanks to the carbonation which encourages the release of gas, thereby reducing indigestion. The addition of sodium bicarbonate helps to neutralise excess stomach acids, which could be the cause of your stomach woes!
7. Soda water is a low-calorie drink that's actually good for you
I still have more uses for soda water to share with you - this is one of my personal favourites.
We all know that fizzy drinks aren't good for us. Rumours are, the diet varieties could be even worse.
This is not good news if you're trying to lose weight. All is not lost, however. Next time you're shopping, pick up a bottle of soda water. Add a drop of natural fruit cordial, some frozen fruit or infuse with a mix of your favourite summer herbs and vegetables like mint and cucumber for a refreshing treat.
Now that definitely beats a standard lime and soda!

8. How to use soda water for cleaning your jewellery
Jewellery can add a wonderful sparkle to any outfit - when it's clean that is! Wear dull gems, and your whole outfit will look duller as a result.
Professional jewellery cleaning can be pretty expensive - why pay, when you can just use soda water?
The carbonated drink loosens and removes grime and dirt to leave your accessories sparkling. Leave to soak in a bowl with a couple of drops of washing up liquid for five minutes. Remove, gently scrub with a toothbrush then rinse.

If you've ever dyed your hair, you'll know how quickly it can become dry and brittle. A quick dip in the pool, or a day in the sun, and you're left with lacklustre locks.
Use soda water to bring them back to life. The low pH levels help to reduce frizz, leaving your hair looking shiny and feeling soft.
10. How to make perfect scrambled eggs
There's nothing worse than stodgy, dry scrambled eggs. Look away from the pan for a minute, and that's what you could end up with - unless you add soda water that is!

Puppies may be cute, but the stains they leave on the carpet sure aren't.

Blot up as much of the stain as you can first, then pour your soda water on over. It will remove the stain whilst also counteracting the unpleasant smell.

I read all of your useful golden tips but I want to enhance some more of that if you want to Clean silver jewelry. Line a mortar with aluminium foil. Put a generous layer of baking soda in bowl. Put silver jewelry in the baking soda. Pour on boiling water. It will bubble and clean the silver. Beneficial and fun.

I know that carbonated drinks are not good, besides processed sugar, the reason is due to the neutralizing effect it has on stomach acid. Hi, When you say Soda water in this article are you referring to sparkling water/seltzer which is just water that has been carbonated or are you referring to club soda which is carbonated water that has been infused with added minerals like potassium bicarbonate and potassium citrate to enhance the flavor and MAY also contain sodium? Hi Stephanie C, Here are a few more: 1. To make a crispy and light batter for deep-frying your haddock or cod if you must, use soda water with you flour instead of water. 2. To remove stains from cups/mugs use half of a 'baby-bottle sterilizing tablet' fill cup/mug with water and leave overnight. 3. If no soda-water is available then a few drops of household bleach, fill with water and leave overnight, remembering to wash and rinse thoroughly before using.

Hi An old home remedy has been passed down so I just wanted to clarify it once again, For kidney stones it's been told to mix milk with soda water (the schweppes brand soda water) and as soon as it starts to fiz in must be ingested, is this correct or does this remedy need to be stopped??
